I want to get back into this, but the nearest hobby shop for tourneys and such is 90 miles away, not to mention my nearest friend that plays is a half-hour away. God damn living in the middle of a low population state.
I hate Magic the Gathering. It's a game for total nerds. Also didn't we already have a thread of this? I thought I bumped one a couple of months ago. Feast and Famine is a pretty awesome card, yeah. Untaps all your lands and doesn't afraid of black/green. THE CREATURE AT LEAST.

I got a old Time spiral gift box today for free and i got this from one of the boosters. [img_thumb]http://www.magic.ee/shop/images/ts/Akroma_Angel_of_Wrath.jpg[/img_thumb] Should make a nice addon for my white/red deck.

Those cards were pretty boss, especially with some of those beastly artifacts (I.E. Darksteel Colossus) [editline]10th March 2011[/editline]
Asking again. Damn bottom of the page!
I've played several draft tourneys at my local shop (Although quite a while ago). The first thing you need to do is resist the urge to grab every rare card, that is if you want to win. Look through your first hand and see what cards seem like the best. This doesn't necessarily mean the 7/7 with trample and first strike that costs 8 mana to play. Sometimes the best cards for drafts are small creatures. Try to find as many low costing good creatures that you can. It is also a good idea to stick with one or two colors only. Much more than that and you run the risk of missing out on the lands you need while playing. That will shut you down instantly and is the worst thing you can do. Since most draft games only last a short while, it is probably best to get only 5 or so creatures that cost 5 or more mana. It depends on the color you choose, which in turn depends on the first couple of packs you get to choose from, but it is usually good to get really balanced cards that are relatively cheap to play. This way you can out number your enemy's cards, and still have those couple of cards to carry you if there is a late game. I may also help to be familiar with the set, so that you know what kind of decks you can make. For instance, if you know that blue is really dominant in the current set, you may want to go with that. Also, the more drafts you play in a single set, the better you will do. You will get more familiar with the set, and know what cards work well together as well as what colors are the best. Anyway, I hope that helps. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. I used to love drafting.
I'd love to have this: [img_thumb]http://www.wizards.com/global/images/magic/general/Clockwork_Hydra.jpg[/img_thumb] [editline]9th March 2011[/editline] Shit, I forgot that my posts won't merge after 4(?) hours. My bad.
While organizing my new boosters i noticed i had this card in one of them. :iia:
I've got a Clockwork Hydra too, as well as some other various clockwork bastards. I like the mechanic, proliferate, yadda yadda.
I've got a Clockwork Hydra too, as well as some other various clockwork bastards. I like the mechanic, proliferate, yadda yadda.
I might try it out tomorro but i have a red and white deck so i am not certain.Should i try it out?
I might try it out tomorro but i have a red and white deck so i am not certain.Should i try it out?
It could work in any deck, but it is best for blue and green decks, I think. Blue and green are notorious for having cards that add +1 +1 counters to creatures. I think it could work in either of those decks you have, but especially white if it's a white weenie deck. You could just keep powering you hydra up while your weak creatures do all the early blocking.
I've had a mill deck since high school that I really enjoy playing. It's blue black, but mainly blue. Those are the main setup for the deck. Once I get the familiar out, I can easy cycle through my entire deck on a good turn. Like any artifact deck, if it gets set up ahead of you ( and this deck gets mana advantage pretty quickly ) it's going to be a rough ride. I've always enjoyed using Glimpse of the Unthinkable multiple times in the same turn.
Hah, speaking of Locus lands. I got a four-set of Glimmerpost in my first fatpack for Mirrodin. :v: Then a fifth, foil version of it.
I got Darksteel Colossus as the rare in my first Darksteel pack :smug:
My first rare out of this Mirrodin release was a foil Platinum Emperion. I fought against a myr artifact deck recently and thoes things are fucking deadly if played right.
I fought against a myr artifact deck recently and thoes things are fucking deadly if played right.
I made a basic one, accidentally created an infinite mana loop in it. Whoops.
I made a basic one, accidentally created an infinite mana loop in it. Whoops.
Not sure why but I got the mental image that when you found that the dude from Mortal Kombat popped out and went "Woopsee!"
Just made a landfall deck, through a combination of Harrow, Khalni Heart Expedition and Terramophic Expanse I buffed two Baloth Woodcrashers to 24/24 with trample. Godlike.
Just played a Two-Headed Giant with my revised Enchantment deck. I love boosting tiny creatures to unstoppable monstrosities. That reminds me of my old deck on Magic Workshop which consisted of a shit ton of forests, and If I had, say 10 lands, I could summon Molimo and on the next turn after my untap step use Untamed Might, so Molimo would be 19/19 at that point. I also had some enhancement that powered up creatures according to how many lands you had, so yeah. [editline]10th March 2011[/editline] 29/29 wubububu
Joke
Oh, sorry, I've very susceptible to trolling. :(
I might try it out tomorro but i have a red and white deck so i am not certain.Should i try it out?
My first instinct would be to say no because it is red, which usually does not incorporate high cost cards, or at least as I understand it. At any rate, it's something you need to determine for yourself. In your deck, all of your cards should work well with each other. So you need to ask yourself, would this card <Clockwork Hydra> work well in my deck? I would be looking for things that you can buff with its counters, or for things that buff the Hydra itself with proliferate.

If you were playing blue/red green, you could quickly grow a monster with this: Although that would almost warrant playing Clockwork / Modularity as the deck.
Doubling season is like $20 a card.
For good reason, though. There are so many combos spun off of that card it's unreal.
First deck was the white Champions of Kamigawa deck. I've changed it from being a straight samurai deck to equipment and buffs. Gotta love Stoneforge Mystic and Kor Outfitter.<3 Current main deck is a mono-blue frost deck. Rimefeather owlssssss.
