Yes, it will be an epic occasion
Except fuck putting a lot of them in the overworld. If there's any way you could shove them underground so they aren't as easy to find, that'd be nice. Anyone with a good eye could see wood and stone bricks whatever the hell everyone uses as their building material, but imagine coming up into it from the underground.
underwater too! It would have a more realistic feel to it, say our timeline had some continental shifting with ocean levels rising and what not
Scatter them all over, and cover them with vines and mob spawners. So many people will play.
Make sure to clone over new hutchinton or what ever its called.
If you want to encourage a sort of exploration-y feel while focusing the activity of the server around a point, such as a spawn town, I'm sure there's a plugin that disables mob spawns in a certain radius. Additionally, this would cut down on the bs spawn in the woods, die, wait a week things.
I spent a lot of time building up Hill Valley in Jamerica; Zesty won't be the only one who is pissed if he discovers his hard work has been wiped.
This is true, although I am thinking about this: ripping large monuments or kingdoms somewhere into the new world. These will also be filled with a moderate amount of treasure. No one will know where they will be at first. This way, it's like finding relics of the past.
This means there is still a reason to build now, but there will be a wipe when the new version is out.
and yes, if you leave chests and stuff in your base, and it is copied over as a relic, your stuff will most likely still be there.
Dynmap wont be up until all relics are discovered
It'll make quite an epic tale, for me a king to quest in search of his kingdom.
Though I foresee Zesty's tower being the first discovered of anything due to its immensity.
Could you place library back at spawn from the beginning, to help give us all a head start with the new map?
Ahaha, my never-completed house won't need any work done on it to make it look abandoned or old !

and im guessing this wont happen for a little bit
Guys, we should all place traps in our buildings before this happens. That way strangers to the area will have a harder time getting to the treasures alive.
It's a good thing we've got trip wire, lava, arrows and TNT!
I promise if your settlement is big enough it will be included in the new map.
How big is 'big enough'?
And how will you fit them in, just drop them onto the new landscape or modify the landscape around them to fit them?

oh..soon..
:( all that work on castle.
Can we have some idea of when the world will be taken and edited? So we can finish up or get things to a sort of semi-done state or whatever.
Also, it'd be cool if you could upload a copy of the world before it resets.

I'd help if you want

its ok arc. we will make our great voyage to new hucherpoppen
Yes, a new town shall rise from the ashes
Also, trap the hell out of the old castle. Let no raider leave unscathed.
I'm hoping it will be placed in a deep ocean, far away from the prying eyes of imbeciles and fools

So when the server is reset, do we still keep anything that is in our inventory? Like Armor, weapons, food, etc?
So when the server is reset, do we still keep anything that is in our inventory? Like Armor, weapons, food, etc?
Inventories are likely to be lost if Glitch clears the playerfiles, we'll also lose enderchest contents if such is the case.
When he copies stuff over to the next map chests in theory should remain intact since their contents are stored as data within them (I think, not 100% sure), but they will no longer be lockette-ed.
If that's the case, don't clear the data files! Make it so that we can keep what we can carry!
we should be writing in books right now telling stories of this age for new players to find
