Never knew that was a VN as well, I've watched the anime when it aired and it was kind of okay if you are into the whole 'just fuck already' incest thing.
Frankly the show was shit so I wouldn't expect the actual VN to be any better since they structured the show like a VN.
Although the part where [sp]they walk in on them fucking[/sp] was pretty funny where he is frozen in horror and the other people look like they then had just seen him sacrifice a goat or something. But IMO his shitty sister killed the show.

That last part made the entire fucking show worth the watch. I never expected to laugh that hard at that show.

i cant be the only one slightly bothered by the way sex is discribed in VNs. 30 different words for genitals in about 10 minutes is kind of overdoing in.

1 every 20 seconds. Fast reader you.
Never heard of visual novels before! Love to try Saya no Uta but I just can't find a way to download it without paying $25.
[editline]10th August 2012[/editline]
I'm not asking for warez in case there are no free visual novels!

After reading the OP again I think I have to pay for it - that's fine with me :)

ecksdee gets annoyed at how fast I read vns lmao
literally the second something pops up I've probably already read it and am ready to move on and he's like "hey slow the fuck down"
so im not the only one muting the sound and listening to music while reading? good to know.
so im not the only one muting the sound and listening to music while reading? good to know.
If the music is really bland like in Yumi Miru Kusuri I tend to replace it with something better, like Bastion's soundtrack, but if it's Steins;Gate or Fate/Stay Night level of awesome I tend to use the game's.
I always use the game's soundtrack

English is your native language, while he's from Estonia if I recall correctly. That's why.
Soundtracks tend to get boring really fast and I just start playing my own music.

I'm not a native speaker, yet I read really fast too. I don't think I'm missing anything either.

he can read p. fast too pretty sure
but I do literally look like I'm skipping everything on stream with how fast I am

It could be depending on a person in this case. Also 'fast' is a relative term, though when someone reads a lot it's unlikely he'll be a slow reader.

I don't recall being all hey slow the fuck down, and if I was it was because it took tinychat a while to update dem graphics to a readable level.
I probably read about as fast as you do.

reading fast is a virtue, I say. People IRL have said it feels like I'm skipping pages in a book. Feels good mang

I may be from Estonia, but I'd consider English to be more my native language than Estonian.
p. sure you do lol
speaking of vns and streams and tinychat, maybe I should continue kira kira later so I can finish chie's shit already
I'll probably be here most of the night, if people come. Might draw, might read some VNs
I may be from Estonia, but I'd consider English to be more my native language than Estonian.
Now that's interesting. Though this shouldn't surprise me since I'll start studying English philology at a university this year, so I'll basically have two native languages as well.

Steins;Gate is making me go slow because of the voiceovers.
Steins;Gate is making me go slow because of the voiceovers.
Goddamn Ruka holy shit. He's the only character annoying me in the VN just because he takes 30 seconds to say a line I can read in 2. The voice acting is good, but this guy is slowing me down immensely, and I can't bring myself to skip his lines because I want to listen to the voice actors.
I don't really pay much mind to the voice acting unless someone makes a funny noise.

Look at this image, it's useful for beginners, there are even useful links on it.

Or makeshift sex sounds using mouths.
That's always entertaining by how bad it is.
Could anyone recommend a good scary VN? I read Saya no Uta and that was... yeah... I like scary books so help me out please.

Heh, Scary VN huh... I'll try to find something. Haven't played much of those.
Tsukihime has some pretty horrific moments, but it's not horror. Saya no Uta is pretty much the only one I can recommend for true horror, and you've already played it, I assume.
Vndb gives me G-senjou has horror, but I don't think it is.
Maybe you should try Higurashi.
[editline]11th August 2012[/editline]
Also, I just added Kamidori Alchemy Meister on the OP, if no one opposes it.
Maybe Chaos;head? It's not really that much of a horror story, but it's pretty intense at times.
Higurashi can be pretty scary
Is the anime good?
It's entertaining and has a few funny moments but it contains a massive amount of fanservice (If a girl is naked in the house at any point, Yamato will somehow be there) coupled with the girls acting sort of out-of-character means I think the VN is better. That's not to say it's a bad Anime by any means, just that I think the writing in the VN is better. This is all based on the first three or four episodes, as I haven't watched all of it yet.
I think that if you're a fan of the game you'll probably get more out of it than someone that hasn't played it.
Started to read (play?) Saya no Uta. When Saya was introduced I immediately thought [sp]she looks normal to him because she looks like a monster to people other than Fuminori![/sp]
I'm not very far into the story so I don't know for sure -- I like my first VN so far and just wanted to share my thoughts :)

Saya No Uta is a weird one to try first; short, gore and doesn't play like your average VN. Hope you enjoy it.
Saya No Uta is a weird one to try first; short, vore and doesn't play like your average VN. Hope you enjoy it.
...vore?
Gore yes, but I don't think the [sp]cannibalism part[/sp] counts as vore really
I meant gore, corrected myself.
