I am trying to get a friend into VNs, what would be a good first time read for him? I don't think he would like the romantic(not the ones that are focused on it)/perverse ones.

I'm think I'm gonna update my avatar to be loop better.

The romantic crap is mostly very minor compared to all the fights and drama. Tsukihime has a tad more romance, the arcs mainly based on the girl you're aiming for. There's still epic fights. Phoenix Wright is perfect for everyone. And if you want to be a real fucking dick, make him play Saya No Uta :v: Otherwise, a lot of visual novels are dating sim, or Slice of Life.

You can clearly see they only put the sex so they could get more money. There's like one scene per arc, at most. Except the last arc :v:

I played a VN called Snow Sakura (or Yuuki Sakura). Absolutely nothing happened.

Anyway yeah, the sex scenes in Type-Moon's early stuff really feel like they were put in to sell the VNs. But hey, at least he came up with reasons for the sex. ...Sometimes. That's probably why Fate/Zero doesn't have any sex scenes (so far as I know). Nor do their upcoming VN and anime projects, which are gonna be all-age releases. Makes you wonder.

I also read a VN called Wind: A Breath of Heart. Absolutely nothing happened until the end. Also, the default path is the incest one.
