i liked the tsukihime anime

If I had to guess, a lot of VN protagonists get hit with the idiot stick so that the reader doesn't get left out. If the main character understood everything that was going on, they wouldn't need explanations and the reader would get left behind. They're kinda like the reader's avatar in the story, so their confusion is our confusion... In theory. That's why it's really frustrating when everyone but the protagonist knows what's going on. The reader clearly gets what's happening, so the protag shouldn't need to be an idiot about it. But they are. There's a fine line between making the protag understandably uninformed and impossibly stupid, and if you tip the balance you get an irritating read. Emi's route in KS really had this effect on me, as did the protag's attempts to uncover servant identities in Fate/Extra (though that's more RPG than VN) because I knew what was happening long before the main characters did. Of course, this isn't true of every Visual Novel protagonist, but it's worth thinking about. If anyone here wants to write a VN they should bear it in mind.

You got the second ending. The first ending is a tad further away, at the choice of the "Who to call" The third ending is really early on, it's obvious what gives you a bad ending.

I'm looking forward to watching it for sure. ...Well, except for Lotta Hart. I can do without more of her in my life.
