However, we decided not to add it on the OP because it's mostly focused on erotic content and while most of us don't mind it, we really don't want to give that kind of vibe in this thread. Plus, Monster Girl Quest story is decent at best, and stupid as fuck at worst. Then, visual novels in Japan are very expensive for us. It would be probably cheaper if you could go there and buy it with Yen, but that's just ridiculous. Anyway, Clannad is a huge classic over there, it's pretty old and I don't know if they are still making copies of the game. This might be why the price is so high as well.

No more copies are being made, at least of the PC version. It's 8 years old and almost everyone just downloads it anyway (sadly), so making new copies would just be a waste of money.

Not really, Jastusa and Mangagamer releases them for about 40-30$. Unless you mean day 1 release untranslated, then it can add up to quite a bit, including shipping and stuff.

I just realized there are all Clannad episodes with English subtitles. I wish there were more VNs NOT set in highschools, even Fate/Stay Night started in highschool then quickly forgot about that.

I personally would like some VNs that aren't set in Japan. Japan's great and all but let's get some variety.

People like to keep things close to home, Its easier to relate to the characters or something.

That Missing Stars thing is set in Europe, but I don't think we want to talk about that yet.

VN's just need more varying settings in general, they're starting to feel like FPS games in their genericness.
