Played it, really enjoyed it. The Ero starts a bit late, but then there's like tons of it. If a character has a request, chances are, they'll trade in ero for it. Also, if it's in your party, you can mate with it. The gameplay mechanics are fun, I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely the superior version of monster girl quest.
I'm really not that big on ero and generally skip past it unless it's got comedic value like in YMK when [sp]nekoko blew you at the convenience store[/sp] or lends to character progression like [sp]Lily's blindfold scene [/sp] in Katawa Shoujo. Is it all forced our it's it decent?
Woop got a nice list of Vn's to play! Clannad (currently working on this) Yume Miru Kusuri G-Senjou no Maou
play little busters
Are there slime girls
Yeah, a few scenes with her too. When it's on the romance characters (3 arcs, 3 girls, 3 completely different game somewhat), the ero sometimes leads to deeper characterisation, but you can skip the jist of it. Some of it, obviously, is sort of forced in with some characters, but well, it's not that annoying. You don't really have many choices per se - but when you have, they're important. There is comedic value in some ero scenes, but they aren't as long as most VN I've played. They're a bit sort of more on quantity than quality, but the quality is still far better than say Monster girl quest. Like if you upgrade your romance interest's armor enough, you'll go test it with her and suddenly ero happens. Oh, and beware the sex sound. Also, the game is pretty fucking hard to install, so it will take some endurance if you want to make it work.
I've already got it installed and it was a bit of a chore, I've had worse though. My Girlfriend is the President for some reason gave me a really hard time.
play little busters
welp that's another to add to the list
Sorry if I'm being dumb but how do I play the Stein;Gate VN? I downloaded the exe and script but do I need the original? [editline]12th May 2012[/editline] Nevermind I'm dumb again.
You know speaking of steins gate, I installed it correctly and everything works. I launch the game but when i hit start the screen goes black for a few seconds and then takes me back to the menu. Anyone know of a fix? And changing localization does not fix it.

I've never managed to get the TL patch working properly for steins gate. Could I get a link to the one that everyone uses to make sure I've got the right one?
I've been playing some more Ever17 again. After progressing further in the story, I now like You and dislike the Kid and Takeshi. Anyone know how long this VN is roughly for the first play through? I'm reading pretty much everything so far, not skipping stuff.
I think its about 6-10 hours for like 1 route. About 30 hours I think if you're going to finish the novel.
I came to this thread expecting talk on the PW series, 999, and things of the such, I'm super let down you bastards. Upupupupupu
999 is my favorite DS game and my favorite VN. There's not much to discuss about it though.
Started Stein;Gate, it's cool so far, Nitroplus has such a cool visual style in their games (Only played Saya no Uta from them but w.e.) The different voices could take some getting used to though :v:

Started Steins;Gate too, love it so far. The Nitroplus stuff seems to be really good.

JAST released a snapshot of the soon-to-be-released "School Days" route map And that's only a minor part of it
Recently got into some of these games, holy crap they have a lot of feels. I was sitting at my computer tearing up like a baby playing Clannad last night going, "wtf is wrong with me stop these feels."
Plenty routes means nothing if the visual novel quality is low.
school days is really good bro idk what you're smoking
school days is really good bro idk what you're smoking
Mh, thought it was an upcoming VN and not a released one, sorry.
Mh, thought it was an upcoming VN and not a released one, sorry.
it's only in japanese for the time being, jast is just getting ready to release an english translation
Weren't the characters in School Days all fucking retarded
I downloaded Clannad today, because I was told that if I enjoyed Katawa Shoujo I would enjoy Clannad even more. Katawa Shoujo was incredible, and it gave me a sufficient amount of feels. What should I expect from Clannad?

A few parts of KS made my chest tighten up but Clannad has actually managed to pull a few tears out of me, haha. Especially on the arcs I can directly relate to, which is a few of them. However, some of the arcs are complete misses for me, didn't get any feels out of them. I'd say I'm about halfway through the school life part, still have a few arcs to do. It's a lot longer though and sometimes you want certain parts to just get over with, but overall I've been able to sit down for multiple hours at a time and read the fuck out of it.

As far as I've played, the people don't act very much like people would in real life, in my opinion. It's a very good visual novel regardless.

The arcs/characters that play a major part of the central storyline aren't too emotional. The ones that are there simply for the sake of content like Kotomi's are the ones I really like. I feel like the writers did a better job on them because they had more freedom, didn't have to worry about how it'd fit in with the After Story and whatnot. The Kotomi arc had me tearing up and the Kyou/Ryou arc was tugging on my heart strings hard.
Ah Clannad. I've said it enough times in this thread, but it wretched me for a while.

Since we're talking about clannad, seems like I find it hard to enjoy much of the arcs in the visual novel after watching the anime.
