What exactly is the difference between Kinetic Novel and Linear Plot? Don't they mean the same thing?
Not entirely. A Kinetic Novel is a novel with no choices entirely, whilst a Linear Plot may still feature choices, just with only one 'correct' order. All Kinetic Novels are Linear Plots, but the reverse isn't true. I suppose in effect, the only real difference is that Visual Novels with Linear Plots would include bad endings from 'wrong' choices, unlike Kinetic Novels with no choices at all.
You mean for the voices? I'm not following what you're asking.
They are translating all the text into English, so technically that means it's in Japanese with subtitles.
Sorry, English isn't my native language. Anyways, that's what I wanted to know and I'm glad, because I've heard dubbed version once and I'm not sure if I want to hear it again.

You've heard dubbed voices on a Visual Novel? I've never heard of such a thing, probably because a Dubbed VN would be complete shit.

3- The route that will wield epilogues/fairly longer than the rest/has more importance/Opinions. This is mostly based on the community's opinion more than anything else. I can't think of an example on the spot.

G senjou no maou?
The endings get progressively longer until they max out with Haru's, which has the most intrigue and adrenaline.

Doesn't have "My Girlfriend is the President!".

MGITP was kinda average tbh.
MGITP was kinda average tbh.
Nope, it was pretty good.
Nope, it was pretty good.
I don't know how anybody could like MGITP. The characters are all unlikeable, the art is frankly lack luster, and the plots are just shitty. It was a waste of however long it took me to complete the damn thing back when I read it and has left a sour taste in my mouth ever since.

So a Linear Plot Visual Novel can have choices, but only has one good ending.

Oh shit, I just realized we aren't even talking about anime. All the time I was thinking there would be a movie or something. I feel so stupid, but at least not disappointed.

You have to earn that.
So a Linear Plot Visual Novel can have choices, but only has one good ending.
Yeah. Basically, think of it like this.
The Earth is about to explode. What do you do?
>Board Spaceship
>Do Nothing
Boarding the spaceship advances the plot, nothing causes you to die terribly and gets a bad end.

Haha, if they made a Tomoyo After anime I'd probably die of the epic news corroding my brain and severing all synapses while creating an overdose of electricity to fry my nervous system.
Hell yes, translation patch for Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni is out. 07th Expansion's new VN, the guys who made Umineko and Higurashi. Expecting this one to be amazing as well, time to start reading.
I just finished Kana -Imouto-'s true ending and it was amazing.
[sp]I didn't think she'd actually live, I thought it was just a dream till it said The End.[/sp]
Totally made my day.

Damn, it has a problem where the character faces don't show up half of the time, stops at the neck. Hoping for a hotfix soon.

its a ~feature~
I think I'm gonna start reading Steins;Gate now
anyone know of any VNs where you play as a musician and the romance options are bandmates? like kira kira, deardrops, etc.
it's too fucking niche but I love it

Symphonic Rain, definitely. Although you aren't in a band, you play as a music student in a conservatory looking for a partner for a graduation recital. The music is quite different from KiraKira, and Deardrops, but the VN is superior in almost every other respect, in my opinion. There are no H scenes, thankfully.
There's even a Guitar Hero like minigame for the musical performances, if that whets your interest.

So I started playing Clannad awhile ago, got bored of it, and left it. I then picked up the anime, and powered through it like crazy and cried like an SOB. I'm now thinking of either continuing with Clannad After Story, or maybe starting the Clannad VN. Is it similar to the anime where [sp]You're stuck with Nagisa, with the exception of the alternate route with Tomoyo[/sp]? Or can you dig it with the other women?
Would I look forward to it now? Or would I just be reading the same thing as the anime for the first 3-4 hours or so?
there are only like 4 romantic routes if I remember right, and another 6 or so friendship routes
there are only like 4 romantic routes if I remember right, and another 6 or so friendship routes
I don't wanna get friendzoned! It's like real life! D:
the anime basically followed the true route, inserted a few of the friendship routes, and hinted at the other romantic routes

I might play it then for the other routes then. Tomoyo/Kyo/Kotomi routes might be cool.

Symphonic Rain mentioned above, and Quartett!

Personally I suggest watching both anime and playing all the routes of VN. VN has more scenes which are likely to make you laugh and there's even a route of Hiragi Kappei, who isn't even mentioned in the anime.
I'm gonna start reading Saya no Uta soon.
I got no idea what to expect but it sounds... fun.
Also the VN has something that the anime missed entirely
[sp]Nagisa's only kiss scene[/sp]
