Higurashi anime is great, watch it for sure. You can always read the VN later. Although it takes some effort to "spice up" with proper art and sound patches.

Steins is both an amazing anime and an amazing VN. Check out both.

So after watching the Steins;Gate anime, I continued on the VN, and I got one alternate ending. I really love the way the game handles the endings, and after seeing the true route in the anime, it's even better to see the alternate futures that come along in the VN.

I've seen bits and pieces and the animation seemed really wonky, not to mention skipping great bits like [sp]Faris's ending[/sp], [sp]the horny Mayuri texts[/sp] and [sp]batshit Nae[/sp]

by the way does the idea of a VN set in a travelling circus pique any interests

Obviously stuff is gonna get cut when you're taking a 25+ hour VN and making it into a 24 episode anime.

Animation seemed perfectly fine from the 5 or so episodes I saw. I dunno how it looks "really wonky".

I finished Moeka's route in a Steins;Gate Hiyoku Renri no Darling last night, it took me about 8 hours in total. And that's just one of the six routes :v:

So today I chose another one at random to play next.

gifs and clips I've seen so far looked vaguely flat and choppy compared to the VN's original style, although it would be hard to put its original style in animated form without fucking uncanny valley between the folds

It's pretty good, much more light hearted then the original Steins;Gate but if you're looking for something silly to play it's pretty good.

I'm sorry but how is an animation "choppy" in comparison to a VN where static images change positions with no transitions between states.

I'm not comparing the anime's animation to the VN's animation I'm comparing the art style of the anime to the art style of the VN

sadly that wasn't conveyed in that earlier mess of a post when the "choppy" became lumped in with the "flat", those should've been separated into differing statements (but now you know!)

Truthfully I don't know, but Okabe thinks Ruka is a guy. Whether or not that's the case is up in the air

My point in using the terms was that when you're looking for a specific genre it makes sense to use the terms Japan uses since, ya know, the damn things are from Japan and we tend to just translate Japans genre names and use those.

Dammit why does Steins;Gate Hiyoku Renri no Darling have to be a console/PSP exclusive. I would get it if I had a PSP/PS3 and knew the moon language, but I don't. It would be an instant buy for me, if it was on PC and somebody translated it.

The exclusive part could be bypassed by using a PSP emulator, but as far as translations go I think you're out of luck.
