VNs are pretty damn expensive.
So, I downloaded Clannad a while back, played a little bit, got bored due to the length, then stopped.
I picked it up again a few days ago, and HOLY FUCKING SHIT. I fell in love with it. Katawa Shoujo was left in the dust as I slowly grew to fall in love with Clannad.
In the course of a week, I finished five routes: Misae, Tomoyo, Yukine, and the Fujibayishi twins. I cried and felt strong feelings at the end of them all, but Tomoyo's was by far the most emotionally impacting.
My friend said that I haven't seen anything until I've made it to Kotomi, Fuuko, and the After Story though. I'm excited.
The After story is like having an open heart surgery without anesthetic.

Everything in Japan is pretty damn expensive for us. 40 dollars for a VN is a fine purchase, especially considering that it easily can be longer than a book and has visuals as well.

What's the implication with that statement? That it's painful or heart wrenching?

I'd say the latter, but heart wrenching also is painful in some ways.

Have you been to the screenshots page? There are 3 nudes.

Well, I mean painful as in "Wow, this is fucking crap".

And lets not forget its notorious endings.

I believe it's because of the fact that it's costs more or something to have somebody buy it from a foreign country or something like that, wish I remember the article I read.

Kotomi made me cry like a bitch at the end. Haven't even gotten to After Story yet.
Shit, I wish I was that sensitive.

What is wrong with driving girls to the point of insanity making them literally [sp]kill each other and/or you[/sp]?
I GAVE HANAKO THE CHOCOLATE :suicide:

woah really i gotta uh, do some RESEARCH about this. Yup totally.
Currently playing Kara No Shojo, so far it's really good. Playing as a detective owns.
I didn't want to read through 60 pages of pages I didn't read
So is there anyone here who enjoyed Yume Miru Kusuri?
I "enjoyed" it.
One route was decent, the other two were kinda boring.

It's pretty bad.
It's not really "bad" in my opinion, it's just that there are so many which are far more enjoyable and written better.
Best part is the [sp]strangle-until-poop-comes-out[/sp] scene.
Also, more people should play CROSS CHANNEL, it's seriously one of the best VN's I've ever played.
It's pretty bad.
What are you talking about it's like the only vn I actually payed for well worth it guys

It was that good
And piracy is not allowed here anyway
So in this case Yume Kiru was the only VN I have ever played

That was the worst part.

Okay sir, only the most ~highest of quality scat porn~ for you
I had my run playing We Love Master. For it being a fuck-fuck VN, it was actually decent. The art was rather good for the characters, aside from genital/genitalia art (Don't get me started on the lulz). Besides the constant mood killer with fucking one ormore of the girls, and having a seemingly endless stockpile of jizz, the stirrings was what made the fame decent. The only problem I have with the game aside from bas vagina art is how they didn't pull through with the storyline. They actually could have had something good to go with, but ended it [sp]After the MC married the 3 girls and his older half-sister[/sp].. My only regret is there not being an individual path for each girl.. Oh boy oh, I would have LOVED to have a Hime route. :Lolicon:
Side Note: The text is hard to read for people who can't um-jumble clusterfucks of words. Some words get caught up inside itself such as letters literally fusing together or some shit. I didn't have a problem though.
Side Note 2: Man I'd love to of only fucked Hime... God damn, was she hot.

I do recommend you read other VNs. Yume Miru Kusuri is fine, but a lot of visual novels do this better (Katawa Shoujo is very similar and it's free, you should play it, it's definitively higher quality than Yume) and without the really forced and stupid sexual translation.
Seriously, some part of Yume Miru Kusuri made me want to rage, especially during the bully part where everything is way blown over proportions in a tact move to try to make a message that just doesn't stick when at the end it says "Strangle and hurt the bully in order to fix all problems".
Obviously, I wouldn't say trying to kill the bully doesn't fix the problem, but it's a generally retarded way.
Yume Miru Kusuri was the first vn I played, I enjoyed it, but I found much much better content in fate/stay night, Clannad and katawa Shoujo to ever want to go back to it.
Also, Piracy in this thread is at a weird point. A lot of visual novels are genuinely almost impossible to get right now, only sold in Japanese stores accepting only Japanese credit card. Those that are actually selling Japanese VN to American/European customers don't have all the visual novels as well.
As we checked a few pages ago, Clannad, as a visual novel, is discontinued (They aren't making it anymore) and cost around 100 American dollars for a copy. Good luck acquiring it legitimately.

This is (the main reason) why I hated it.

-snip-
whatever I don't have anything against pirates and I will pick up a copy of clannad
And I was kidding about the whole "only vn i played"
I'm sure there are lots of us who have "never played vns" other than free ones.
Mods can't ban me over piracy because I used quotes.
You sound like an idiot when you talk about stuff like that.
