The Visual Novel Megathread: Reading till your eyes bleed - Games

Finished reading True Remembrance last night. I thought it was a great story. It started kind of slow, but then there was lots of surprises and unexpected events. I'm glad that the ending[sp]turned out to be a happy one, I didn't really expect one for most of the story.[/sp] I'm going to read Narcissu next. Although, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to read Narcissu or Narcissu Side 2nd first.

After finishing Steins;Gate and loving it, I decided to give Chaos;Head a try seeing as it's the same universe and all and people seem to like it. Loving the little things that I recognise from being mentioned in Steins;Gate, but I'm really hating the protagonist for now. It's not like Rintarou wasn't a doofus at times, but this guy is living spaghetti.

Well, I've decided to watch and finish Fate/Zero, which is an anime prequel to Fate/Stay night. God damn is the ending dark as shit. Type-moon standards :v:

So last night(being actually a few hours ago) I found out why I dropped Kamidori Alchemy Fuckface, even though it was fantastic. God that one fucking bullshit mission with the cyclops commanders or whatever. "A:Lose if encounter cyclops commander" "B:Party members must reach all locations" The fuck bullshit you talking about mate, they are fucking everywhere for Christ's sake. I swear I tried this mission like 20 times with different strategies each time, but to no avail. I wish there was an easymode with no fighting or anything, I'd continue that.

Is that the mission where you save the twins? Send me a picture of the battlefield. My worst moments in Kamidori was against teleporting enemies. They'd quickly walk behind my lines and jump on my camp, making me lose instantly. I lost like 5 hours of progress that time.

The points are at least 3-4 turns behind enemy lines, and the first cyclops commander or whatever is like 4 turns from reaching you. You have 70 turns in the mission.

Yeah, it's that one. There's no much choice here but to be extra careful of the Troll's pattern. Basically, the Cyclops chief will not enter the side rooms, he's only going to run in circles around the areas, so make sure to dash for the places that offers safety. Get a character that has firewalk on the room above, you'll be able to venture freely and get the points without much problems. The bottom left and right, you'll need a bit of luck and speed.

Sent ol' firedog up north and Flychick and Loveinterest-sword lady and some others downstairs, but no matter what I do it's like, a cyclops comes out of nowhere and murders the mission. I'll try again later I guess.

Quick question about Narcissu. Should I play it with voice acting turned on or off? I don't understand Japanese, so I'm not sure there's much point to having it on, but is it better to have it on even if I don't understand it?

After watching the Anime I'm going to grab School Days HQ which apparently released not too long ago and play for it till I get all the proper endings.

School Days HQ is a confusing experience, I'm not used to VNs progressing on their own, feels weird man.

Got Otome's ending in School Days Best one so far, everyone was happy, and Otome is the best girl. Sadly it's her only ending :(
