I always thought terraria had potential to be a game where you start off with wood houses and pointy sticks and end up with with space age lasers and shit but instead we get a clusterfuck of magic, ores and stuff but it still makes for a great game
Starbound is shaping up to be a ridiculously awesome game however, and I don't care if there's progression of technology or not but yeah that'd be neat to meet an uncivilised race and have them worship you as gods just because you can fly and shoot laser beams

No other reason, Just mechs, I'm a sucker for mech, robots and power armour.
