Is there any sort of Pre-order right now?
Is there any sort of Pre-order right now?
, Nnnnope. They aren't even sure how they're going to distribute it at the moment. Greenlight is a possibility, but it hasn't been set In stone
, Nnnnope. They aren't even sure how they're going to distribute it at the moment. Greenlight is a possibility, but it hasn't been set In stone
Given they're recognised developers (Terraria), they won't need Greenlight to go "live"
This needs to go into the OP: Only one(ONE) person from Terraria is working on Starbound. Namely, Tiy, the spritist from Terraria.

I like having the option of also having games on Steam. In that vein they could potentially release it through the Humble store like FTL did.

None the less, Chucklefish published Wanderlust, which is a Steam title so I doubt they'll need Greenlight
Ok I was in a hurry as I typed it. None the less, Chucklefish published Wanderlust, which is a Steam title so I doubt they'll need Greenlight
I'm hoping. Seriously, I'd probably go full krogan bloodrage if they release it and steam either drags their heels about it or does that retarded "Which would you like to get the GreenLight next?" votes.
http://fr.twitch.tv/tiyuri/b/355167226 I come with good news! more video! I hope nobody has posted this already, if so, sorry! this is some sand physics tests. looks good technically wise, as they said its a work in progress though, hoping they do something with those visuals.
I feel unsatisfied with the robot options. Then again, being a fan of more Japanese robot designs and Megaman stuff, I guess that's natural.. Oh well!
Oh wow, that sand physics is way cooler than terraria! Also, is that crouching I see?
Felt like using my sprite creating powers for something to do while bored. Some proportions got fucked up in transition.... I had to resize the base to 1x1 pixel size as working on it in the original 3x3 pixel size was impossible, but since (w7) MS paint's resize function anti-aliases shit, I had to guess with the selection tool's resizing which can't retain aspect ratio. Photoshop couldn't resize it without anti-aliasing either. Ffs. Edit: Updated with some of the proportions fixed, fuck the legs though
Anyone have some videos from that stream? I can' view it ATM.
Has there been any talk of implementing a small sound when a chat message is received? Nothing annoying like a loud "ding", but a small "pop" or "click" would be excellent. If there hasn't, then I will definitely request it. It's an easy addition to the game that makes talking to other people using the in-game chat a lot easier. Going by the dev videos that they've put up so far there is still no sound when a message arrives, so I wasn't sure if they were going to add it later or not.

So, how do the aliens work? is there only a few number of species native to each planet? or is EVERY creature you find randomized?
I would imagine you have random species on each planet.
I'm assuming each planet will have it's own ecosystem(s?) with indigenous species, rather than a clusterfuck of random critters. Are planets going to have varying environments?
The stream did show off giant flowers.
The stream did show off giant flowers.
In addition to a fuckton of armor that was all tier 1, out of 10 tiers. And they all actually looked not shit graphically for being tier 1. Also he touched on npc AI types, showed off a bunch of different weapons, did some crazy chainsaw shit, and there's very space marine-looking armor as well.
So are you saying there's a lot of tier 1 armor?
[del]Is there a recording of the stream?[/del] Wow, you literally just go to the stream and it's right there. Way to go me.
Got to say I like where they're going with this so far, I like how they said enemies will collapse or ragdoll in the finished product, but will scatter if hit with an explosive. Some of the flavor text for items is a little cringe-inducing. Mainly the "ALL THE ____" meme in the fireplace and dining table descriptions, could do without those.

And come on, it's just CAPITALSED one word.
Mainly the "ALL THE ____" meme in the fireplace and dining table descriptions, could do without those.
Those are temporary and they're meant to be replaced. http://www.reddit.com/r/starbound/comments/166qlw/sand_cascading_the_stream/c7tec9n
