Well that's confirmed, he also stated that the beta won't have the space station
I'm guessing you'd be confined to one planet then for the Beta?

You could be confined to a single bedroom, single bath apartment for all I care, I need this.
Enjoy some moosic.

Why am I dumb?
or you can just listen to all of them here https://soundcloud.com/curtis-schweitzer/sets/starbound/ instead of supporting the idiots who reupload them to youtube for personal gain
Can't wait to make one of the aquatic people and build a sea base.
I'm thinking an oil-rig-esque surface entrance, and the main base on the sea floor.

Tentacle exploration
Oh my.
I'm still ejaculating fire and sulfuric acid in anticipation for a release date, a beta version, or a pre order availability

You should probably get that looked at.

I did, the doctor called it one of the most impressive things he had ever seen, albeit grotesquely horrifying
He signed me up to get into a load blowing contest with a Russian Superbater, I don't know if I'm up to the challenge.

I've heard you can get some great scholarships through those.
no news can turn this thread really weird or really amazing
and currently it's the latter. i love you guys.
i love you too
I don't.
I think we should just stay friends.
As amusing as this is getting, I'd like to just say this:
I hope they add some efficient means to drain water out of sealed areas. Building underwater bases can be such a pain in the ass

I want to build Dwarf Fortress-esque drowning chambers. One with water, and immediately behind that is one with magma. And if they somehow get past that, a nasty drop into a pit filled with acid and/or spikes. Or blood if I can manage that.

You're a sick man.
Want to help me build a few bases? :v:

Hell yeah, the purging is loads more fun when you've got friends. Just hope there's cameras and security screens, so it's possible to watch one area from a ways away.
Did I hear the words death and Trap in the same sentence? Can I join? I love booby-traps.
Hey, the more of us there are to accidentally fall into/trigger the trap half-way through and kill everyone, the more like Dwarf Fortress it'll be.
has it been discussed on how many players will the game support?
has it been discussed on how many players will the game support?
If I remember right they said the game would technically allow as many as 255, but more than 8-16 is unlikely from a practical standpoint.
Not sure if this is correct at all but it's what I remember hearing.
I just hope you can have drones or turret emplacements that kill every creature on a planet but you.
Probably overthinking and expecting for pigs to fly, but I would love to have some automated robots doing work. Like setting up a quarry and while I'd be rummaging other planets, these robots could mine for resources. Then I when I return I would just build into the caves left by them. Make a bigass secret science laboratory of all evil.
And possibly have robots patrol around places guarding stuff. Doesn't matter what they would do, as long as I would have robots moving around the facility making it look busy I'd be happy. But hopefully doing useful stuff.

Would love to have a planet with fast growing corruption-style plants, and set up flamethrower turrets to keep it away from your base (like the planet covered in psy-amplifying weeds from the book Ravenor)

Speaking of which, have water pumps of any kind been shown in Starbound yet? I haven't watched all of the videos (I wish they just used a mic or something instead of standing there and typing out everything :( ).
Using a bucket to move liquid in Terraria was not fun, and I'd love to make some perpetual waterfall machines or something for my base.
I don't think they have yet, but I can't imagine them not including them. Unless they have quantum buckets, it's basically the only way to move massive quantities of liquid across any real distance.

Quantum buckets.
That just sounds awesome.
Well, Terraria eventually got pumps, so I'm sure Starbound will have some sort of mechanic things like it. (hopefully better than it)
Woo Aquariums.
