that post gets me all giddy, specially the landscape and world gen, and the space battles. That looks bad ass and director mode again.
300 more hypes acquired
I hope you will be able to, as a group, share the same spaceship and then go explore planets as one entity. I also hope you can invite people to build on your ship so it's everyone's base.
Would be cool to be a crew of four or five different aliens all working together with their own sections of the space-station.
Also, after reading that Q-A im afraid my hype will burst out of my chest, Alien style.
It's like they are taking terraria to x1000.
They know exactly why terraria was so good, and they know exactly how to make it much, much better.
As has been said many times before, only Tiy worked on Terraria and even then he was only a spriter.

I didn't say they were the developers for terraria.
I only said they know why it was good and how to make it better.
I believe it might go as low as 10 or 15.
As I recall, they said the aim is $10-$15 but $20 should be the upper limit.
$20 is still a steal.
You haven't even played it yet.

Well, yeah. but I can't imagine this game becoming a flop.

$20 is easily affordable enough that I don't really care if it's not as good as it seems.

Spore was still okay
Speaking of spore, I once played it at my cousin's house
He said all my creations looked like demons taken out of a DOOM game

If it's going to be exactly how they say it'll be, I wouldn't mind paying $30 for it
Spore was still okay
But it was only just okay. We were promised so much more, but we ended up with what felt like less than the first E3 demo for so much extra time in development.

I bought spore a long while ago, vague memory of it, but holy cow did i have fun commanding my tribe, and leading them to the edge of the universe, that shit was golden
It may not have had what it should've but it was still a fun game.

It definitely wasn't bad, but if you followed its development it was a huge disappointment. (Which is something I don't think we'll need to worry about for Starbound.)
I'm gonna pick up Spore again after reading these last few posts. I had a ton of fun with it. Just takes a few hours to get it's TWO expansions compatible.
I never finished Spore because Tribe mode was so fucking boring, like jesus.
I ended up skipping it and going to Civilization mode :v:

i did it twice, first time to learn it, 2nd time for the achievements related to it.
i go back occasionally but civ mode is definitely more thinky than space mode.

Civ phase was the only part I really replayed. Space was just too repetitive and annoying.
I just cheated and bought tons of the planet exploders and blew shit up.

instead of trying to navigate to the galaxy core i made it a better challenge to try and find earth. then blow it up.
edit: now i want to make a marvin the martian race and do it again...
i kind of hope there will be some sort of space environments to explore, like abandoned stations and such, or find a seemingly lifeless planet only to find a lone survivor.

I'd like weird apocalyptic worlds too, with some parts just ravaged ground split apart only by meteorites and lava, and other parts abstract islands suspended in the air. Would make for some fun exploration.
ooo, I'm down for planets ravaged by nuclear warfare or some other apocalyptic pasts.
You'd go down in a hazmat suit and look for the underground vaults containing the remaining survivors of the inhabitants!

Would be cool to have Fallout references too. Like finding Vault 13, and heading inside and to the water room, then examining the water chip would yield something like "Guess their hero didn't make it back in time".
or something more subtle like a vault jumpsuit

but you wouldn't even get that far unless you got the HEV suit from gordon freeman
