What if theres a planet full of clones? Of you
"Here's Garry!"
What if there would be a multiplayer planet Not like a small group of players, but like a big "server" Just full of people, no rules whatsoever
What if there would be a multiplayer planet Not like a small group of players, but like a big "server" Just full of people, no rules whatsoever
Bombs going off everywhere and giant sky cocks would be rampant.
soo since the game has medieval robots i fucking know who i will play as THARTHOR
What if there would be a multiplayer planet Not like a small group of players, but like a big "server" Just full of people, no rules whatsoever
A trade planet could be cool, but that's about it, in my opinion.
Why is the most active non general media thread in the games forum for a game that isn't even out yet [editline]18th February 2013[/editline] the posts aren't even good
What if there would be a multiplayer planet Not like a small group of players, but like a big "server" Just full of people, no rules whatsoever
Let's ask a couple of players from the server how cool it is! Not to mention a lot of people posting here have ADD so they get sidetracked easily. Here's another screenshot taken from someone on the Starbound forums, doubtful this is actually a cloud world, most likely a snowy one, still neat though. I'm still wondering why he's running around in his underwear :v:
Is that a weapon merchant's stall I see in that second screenie? Also those graphics look nice and neat.
I agree, I find almost everything about Starbound easy on the eyes. EXCEPT for the ammo counter, it's so fucking tiny, I really hope they fix that.
I agree, I find almost everything about Starbound easy on the eyes. EXCEPT for the ammo counter, it's so fucking tiny, I really hope they fix that.
Jesus christ I hadn't even noticed the ammo counter yet, now I can't unsee how ittybitty it is :c
Aw fuck fellas, http://playstarbound.com/soundtrack/ Glitch theme exposed too
The first photo Kegan posted especially - looking at the ammo counter - you can barely see it with that background. So yeah they sure make it a bit more easy on the eyes, looks like I'll need to bring a magnifying glass with me to play Starbound otherwise.
you do realise that games usually allow you to change the resolution, right that's usually a thing
So instead of making a few numbers bigger, everyone has to change their resolution just to make them more readable?
you do realise that games usually allow you to change the resolution, right that's usually a thing
They just need to make the font bigger or move the ammo counter elsewhere, make it a dynamic HUD element similar to the O2, Hunger, and Temp bars, just have it slide below the Battery meter when you have a gun equipped and slide back up when you're not armed with it
those pictures are 726x540 and 725x363 respectively, nobody is going to be playing in that resolution ever why are you acting like playing the game in a larger resolution is a problem
I don't... are you high. You're high. Please tell me you're high.
those pictures are 726x540 and 725x363 respectively, nobody is going to be playing in that resolution ever why are you acting like playing the game in a larger resolution is a problem
That doesn't change the fact it's still too small, and they can easily make it a bit bigger so as to make it readable. You are making everyone put more effort into something that can be done by the devs in a few minutes. Seriously, christ. How is that even a suggestion?
those pictures are 726x540 and 725x363 respectively, nobody is going to be playing in that resolution ever why are you acting like playing the game in a larger resolution is a problem
What if I have to lower the screen resolution to have the game run smoothly?
What if I have to lower the screen resolution to have the game run smoothly?
Enjoy your tiny letters because obviously having a big resolution is the easiest way to fix small text.
Those pictures are scaled down from their actual resolution. [editline]19th February 2013[/editline] The relative size is still small for the ammo counter.
Here's what I meant earlier by a dynamic ammo HUD element, just not quite as shitty looking :v: Well fuck, nevermind
[05:54] <@Tiyuri> there are going to be no ammo counters [05:54] <@Tiyuri> guns are going to use energy [05:54] <@Tiyuri> the ammo counters are temporary
:v:

So there is no difference between an energy pistol and a gun that shoots slugs. Or flechettes. or anything cool besides energy. I assume energy will just recharge automatically as well? I really hope not. I hope they need some sort of station to recharge their capacity. I mean that's one thing I liked about starbound, where you needed to make sure you had all the ammo or whatever you needed before going up against a boss or into a dark cave or dungeon. It preparing for the thrill was also an important part of the thrill itself because you didn't know what you were going up against so you either split the resources you had, or you had your friends specialize. I mean even in Star Trek energy wasn't unlimited (ok starship weapons but that's a different story) and once shit ran out you had to improvise. And virtually every other sci fi game/universe followed the same principle. Why? Because it made the weapons unique, so that they weren't just multicolored lasers pew pewing all over the place. Having an ammo counter gives a greater sense of what type of weapon it is, as how powerful the ammo being fired from it is. I'm not happy with that change. Not happy at all. Wait, is the energy bar the green bar beneath the red health bar? Because if firing my gun draws energy from the character's body/suit/whatever and limits what else I can do then fuck that. Unless firearms are as powerful as they were in terraria, or use energy like the star power in that it was completely independent of whatever the player did, then this is very depressing news.

Relax framperton, just because the weapons use energy doesn't mean they'll all FIRE energy, they already shown explosive rockets and shit.
Relax framperton, just because the weapons use energy doesn't mean they'll all FIRE energy, they already shown explosive rockets and shit.
Explosive shit rockets. Covers the enemy in luke-warm sewage that causes corrosive damage over time and stuns the enemy briefly. Because dude, you just shot a ball of shit at them, that's a bit stunning.
Relax framperton, just because the weapons use energy doesn't mean they'll all FIRE energy, they already shown explosive rockets and shit.
Yeah I forgot to say that Tiy specifically mentioned guns, and not launchers or projectors. But still having to use energy to fire a bullet or whatever is a bit lame.
