I wonder if the darkened outside is just for the sake of the screenshot, or will some interiors be like in, say, Simon's Quest or the 2nd Zelda game. We'll see I guess :v:
I think something like completely dark planets that are constantly dark, or the other way around, would be really cool rather than a plain old day and night cycle.
Pretty sure it'll be more like like : Go to which planet? planet 1 planet 2 planet 3 etc
Tiy said that planets will be generated using random seeds. (kinda like in Minecraft) You input "galaxy" coordinates, and it creates a world based on the coordinates by using it as seeds.
>Get ye space flask
After a single swig, you feel as if you got knocked in the head, and fall into unconciousness. When you come to on the floor of your cabin, your brain feels as if it had been smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped around a large gold brick. That drink was the alcoholic equivalent of a mugging; expensive and bad for the head.
Pic
That background. From the file name I'm guessing planets will have civilizations on them or at least the buildings of former inhabitants.
Yup, he talked about working on implementing pre-built buildings and stuff.

I'm going play as a blue Avian and I'll name him: Atreides.

I will play the crap out of this
I think something like completely dark planets that are constantly dark, or the other way around, would be really cool rather than a plain old day and night cycle.
They should simulate the planets orbits' and base the day/night cycle on that And tidally locked planets that have messed up temperatures and strong winds and stuff.
Looks really terraria-ish
And I like it!
And I like it!
i doubt anyone whos been in the thread this long would have it any other way.
A new video would be nice, like they said.
I would like a video to to gice us just 5 minutes of gameplay, nothing showcased, just 5 minutes, or some kind of teaser.
Why does the IRC fucking suck so bad. [editline]28th May 2012[/editline] I got my permabanned from the chat because I complained about the bullshit name registering thing and how someone keeps taking the names that I use (Literally, I come on with a random username and someone else registers it). When I went around the ban, my forum account was permabanned. Fuck that community, I guess I'll just stick to this thread. [editline]28th May 2012[/editline] no ur dumb diendwemar [editline]28th May 2012[/editline] oh hey, automerge removes ratings [editline]28th May 2012[/editline] stop rating me dumb

The IRC and Forums are INCREDIBLY dumb, I think I mentioned earlier here that I met someone on the IRC who was being an unpleasant cunt to everyone, and was demanding Java coding information, and yet the Mods chewed ME out for Confronting the shit head. All of my rage
Looks really terraria-ish
It looks like a 2d game with blocks. Other than that it looks completely different.
It looks like a 2d game with blocks. Other than that it looks completely different.
It's like diablo and torchlight. Similar game, slightly different mechanics, different setting. Yet Both are pretty damn good.
There's nothing wrong with the similarities. But on the plus side the character and enemy designs are much more varied and interesting compared to Terraria's. Pretty much everything Chalky said. And yeah I wanna play as a robot man too. Fuck i'm starting to have dreams about playing this fucking game, I haven't had dreams about playing a game before it came out since Just Cause 2. I'm pretty stoked
It looks like a 2d game with blocks. Other than that it looks completely different.
I know Tiy's not really doing so much art-wise for Starbound but uh... Wasn't he the art guy for Terraria? The hi-tech stuff and characters look different but it does have a rather similar style to Terraria. Either way it doesn't really matter though.
Please stop hiding from the fact that it looks really similar, it's not a bad thing and admitting it is also not a bad thing. Pretty much the only graphical difference is the character design. Also, has other playable races been confirmed other than the humans and the avians? I want to play as a cyborg or a plant person.
It really just looks like a 2d game. That's all. Terraria has this specific kind of style, but this is really different.
cant wait to see other races, but i think im sold on being a cute little bird dude
Cute and sacrificial altar doesn't go well together in my book
