I think something like completely dark planets that are constantly dark, or the other way around, would be really cool rather than a plain old day and night cycle.

Tiy said that planets will be generated using random seeds. (kinda like in Minecraft)
You input "galaxy" coordinates, and it creates a world based on the coordinates by using it as seeds.

They should simulate the planets orbits' and base the day/night cycle on that
And tidally locked planets that have messed up temperatures and strong winds and stuff.

I feel your pain man. The IRC and Forums are INCREDIBLY dumb, I think I mentioned earlier here that I met someone on the IRC who was being an unpleasant cunt to everyone, and was demanding Java coding information, and yet the Mods chewed ME out for Confronting the shit head.

It's like diablo and torchlight.
Similar game, slightly different mechanics, different setting. Yet Both are pretty damn good.
There's nothing wrong with the similarities. But on the plus side the character and enemy designs are much more varied and interesting compared to Terraria's.
Pretty much everything Chalky said. And yeah I wanna play as a robot man too. Fuck i'm starting to have dreams about playing this fucking game, I haven't had dreams about playing a game before it came out since Just Cause 2. I'm pretty stoked

I know Tiy's not really doing so much art-wise for Starbound but uh... Wasn't he the art guy for Terraria? The hi-tech stuff and characters look different but it does have a rather similar style to Terraria. Either way it doesn't really matter though.

To be fair Red had the sprites already pre made, Tiy had very little room to work with making new sprites unfortunately.

It really just looks like a 2d game. That's all. Terraria has this specific kind of style, but this is really different.
