Or maybe you find a cratery planet, there are creepers on it, so you leave and they probably won't be anywhere else.
Or you find them on a derelict vessel floating through space, whose presence is found through a strange transmission you pick up on your spaceship's radio?
The SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Ishimura?
Another thing about mechanical trees, they make sense. A race creates robots. Some shit happens and everyone dies. Radiation or whatever kills off surface plants completely. Robots are left alone, and begin to miss their creators. So they start emulating them and their original world. The creators would never stand for the surface being a barren wasteland, so they try and transplant underground plants. No go, they all die. Y'know, because of the radiation or whatever. So they build mechanical trees instead, and put down fake grass. Now it looks like something the creators would appreciate. Alternatively, you can replace "everybody dies" with "everybody leaves" and instead of trying to emulate the old world in memory of their creators, they're trying to get them to come back. Sad robot theories solve all problems.
Or a race creates robots and then robots kill everyone. Wow, that actually sounds like a great idea for a TV series!
Its really pissing me off that they haven't showed a game play video, didn't he say he was going to show a game play video like 4 months ago on his twitter?
There's a few videos The water demo is like one or two pages before this page [editline]14th July 2012[/editline] In this post
maybe we could generate a link list on the first page of all the preview goodies we have found.
The Water Demo is fucking amazing. Maybe i'm just saying that because we haven't gotten any footage in a while but...
Each terraria playthrough I've had is around 30 hours (I play with friends so it's a helluva lot more fun but also longer), and I'm doing another playthrough with a friend that I bought terraria for. Terraria is a really great way to develop friendships. Another thing, 30 hours, that's alot considering a) it's an indie game and b) it's not a particularly sandboxy game, sure it's got sandbox elements, but you don't want to spend all your time building, it focuses on the action, which I like. 30 hours is really good considering MW3's campaign is like, what? 6-8 hours?
When I do a playthrough it usually takes me about 8-12 hours depending on how fast the people I'm playing with are going. I almost always end up being the underpowered one cause someone will need just a few more mats to complete a new item and I'm saving just that mat for an item myself and end up giving it to them so they can complete it. Not unusual for me to get to the dungeon in silver armor and just using a ball o hurt. :v:

I AM READY FOR STARBOUND ARE YOU???
A shame you're going to be ready until December.
Starbound looks way too good for its own good, and the music is awesome. Hope the traveling between planets and through space is done in a good way
A shame you're going to be ready until December.
Says whom? I seriously don't get everyone believing unofficial sources from the Starbound forum
Says whom? I seriously don't get everyone believing unofficial sources from the Starbound forum
I'm still pretty certain the devs themselves don't want to say december because people would flip the fuck out. But on the IRC, almost every mod there will tell you the end of the year.

In the meantime I'll just expect it to be August.

I'd honestly be okay with it if they took their time on it, if it meant a better end product. I don't mean spending two months fixing little minor bugs that most players won't notice or care about, I mean adding in more stuff.
I wonder if planet gravity will affect how liquids behave. Imagine dumping a bucket of water on a planet with zero gravity.

Each of my playthroughs are about 80 hours. This is solo though.

Shit, if you can make a playthrough last 80 hours, I want to play with you lol
I apply pessimistic logic to basically everything; I don't get my hopes up and often expect the worst, so that if it turns out great then I am even more excited and if it turns out bad it turned out like I expected. So I fully expect this game to take until the year 2099.
While not particularly earth shattering, but Tiy also asked Gaslamp if the diggles could make a Cameo in Starbound as well. They seem to be all on for the idea. Pet Diggles please.
maybe they want to invite marcus fenix and the entire mortal kombat roster too!!!
to be fair that's two cameos we know of, and we don't know if they're going to be actual creatures. Honestly I'd prefer if they were statues/decorations. Or maybe a cosmetic item. That'd be fine

what is the issue with having them in-game? as long as they don't make a big show and fuss about it when they appear it would just be like any other creature if you've never played the reference before then it's just another monster but if you have it's a fun little 'hey its x from y' [editline]16th July 2012[/editline] the only issue with creepers is the standard minecraft player (12yo) reaction
I hope this game comes out before Cube World. If it doesn't, then I honestly have no reason to play this game.
