Except that this game is not in "Development" for 12 years (Making the expectations just impossible to reach) It's also not a sequel to a game based on poop and violent humor. Sorry, I don't really get how they could be promising a "DNF".
idk man if i was promised a game with poop and violent humor id be hyped up
I'm curious as to how sprite-based creatures are going to end up being procedurally generated by the game.
I'm curious as to how sprite-based creatures are going to end up being procedurally generated by the game.
They will probably have premade parts just being thrown together.
They will probably have premade parts just being thrown together.
Don't forget the random color schemes. Never forget the random color schemes [sp]and skeletons[/sp]
Don't forget the random color schemes. Never forget the random color schemes [sp]and skeletons[/sp]
FUCK! THATS ANOTHER THREE HOURS!
You can tame animals? There's going to be a pokemon mod, calling it.
Hell, I wouldn't be that surprised if they already had something resembling pokeballs at launch. [editline]26th July 2012[/editline]
Same with Terraria. It just wasn't what most people thought it would be.
Terraria was way better than I expected.
Genetically modifying things seems okay, but I hate the idea that you guys are hyping up too much over it. It'll be a real disappointment when the game comes out and you guys are all sad because you didn't expect it to be what you thought it was. Especially since the game was announced months ago and doesn't seem be anywhere near complete, we should just wait for more videos and pictures to come through before making our assumptions/hype all adjusted correctly. It was the same with terraria, in which people thought it was going to be the most amazing fucking sandbox ever, but were disappointed to see not much in the game if they were hardcore gamers who sped through it and weren't creative in the game at all. Starbound however offers so far genetic manipulation, planet manipulation, terraforming, vehicles, and slopes- much more than terraria. But if we all put hype in something that we barely know much about, we're just going to end up disappointed in the game.
Wait where was genetic manipulation and planet manipulation confirmed? I'm pretty sure we've all been talking in "what ifs" about all the creature stuff.
It's a thing that happens when people get hyped too much over games.

I like to fantasize about features but I also retain realistic expectations of the game. I still think it'll be loads of fun.
I really feel he should've given terraria over to the modders. Such good things could come out of an edited terraria engine. Hell, charge for the engine, it'd still be worth it.

Anyone going to get Wanderlust on Steam? I kind of want to, but I'm afraid it'll just sit in my library because I don't have many people to play it with. And new monster looks pretty neat-o
Looks like its out of Pokemon.
I'll give someone shadowgrounds if they spare me a copy from the four-pack :s
I wouldn't say that's a worthy trade.
No, it's just reduced charity
http://playstarbound.com/procedurally-generated-guns-pewpew/
Hello guys, I know it’s been a while since we’ve posted some news, that’s largely because we’ve been working hard pushing the game towards release. But I wanted to share some info on procedurally generated guns and how they work. First of all, they all look different! There are literally millions of combinations, but here’s just a handful: But it’s not just about the looks, every single one of these guns behaves differently. Guns are divided into various classes such as Rocket Launchers, Pistols, Assault rifles, etc. Each of those classes provides a range for various stats, including but not limited to.. clip size, reload time, fire rate, damage per shot, bullet spread and so on. These stats are analysed to provide the overall level for a weapon. Weapons also have a rarity value, ranging from common to super rare. A weapon’s rarity value gives it access to various pools of weapon mods. Weapon mods completely change the functions of the weapon. Examples of weapon mods might be explosive shots, bouncing bullets, branching shots and so on. These mods are combined with the weapons stats to create a completely unique gun. Guns are also divided into energy and ballistic weapons. Ballistic weapons require ammo and energy weapons use the players energy pool to fuel it’s shots. On top of all this, weapons have utility functionality. Such as laser sight and flashlights. Finally, there are visual differences for the projectiles and some guns have unique damage types. Phew! This is just ranged weaponry.. there’s still melee weapons to talk about, but perhaps we should save that for another time. Reminds me of Borderlands
God damnit why does this sound so awesome, it's only a fucking side scroller! Every time I peek in here it gets better
2D Borderlands with sandbox. TAKE ALL MY MONEY.
definently shaping up gearwise so far compared to terraria, i hope theres still some neat melee weapons as well instead of everyone use gunz just take yur pick.
Space combat in ships or fighting over astroids with gravity would be ridiculous honestly they could add anything
I want a lazersword grenade launcher. With a build-in vaporizer. And a rocket array. Did I forgot flamethrower?
yu didd forgot [editline]4th August 2012[/editline]
I want a lazersword grenade launcher. With a build-in vaporizer. And a rocket array. Did I forgot flamethrower?
You guys really shouldn't get yourself so hyped up for this game. The lower your expectations are, the more you will enjoy it.
You guys really shouldn't get yourself so hyped up for this game. The lower your expectations are, the more you will enjoy it.
I apply this to basically everything in life.
That's why I have no expectations in life It makes everything more fun but lots of things still manage to be disappointments
That's why I have no expectations in life It makes everything more fun but lots of things still manage to be disappointments
That's because life sucks compared to anything else.
life sucks only as much as yourself and others try to make it.
