I don't let personal expectations and hype dictate how much I enjoy a game. my expectations are high and I know that he can't read my mind and put everything I want in the game, and that's fine. I'm still excited and I'm still going to have fun.
Having low expectations for everything may be great and all, but you're fucking annoying to everyone else. Also, day-to-day life sucks ass more.

Not really, unless you are a mopy jerk about it. If you do it right, it can make life a lot more satisfying and just laid back.

I would really like to see some kind of weapon forging system, maybe researching weapon types/parts and building them from materials you gather later on different planets. Say you find a cool rifle that shoots fiery bullets, research it, then find out that incendiary ammo costs a certain resource to make. You go to a volcanic planet, get that resource, and can make it. Maybe, seems like a lot, but it fits the whole exploration and discovery theme.
