this screenshot looks a lot more zoomed out than others. as in, the pixels are actually pixel size now. if that makes any sense.
i wonder if you can change the size whenever you want. i think i prefer it zoomed in more.

They already stated it's dynamic and you can change it on the fly, with things like binoculars increasing your "range"
Here's a .png of that image

That's a much better image than the others
Also, I'm a bit worried about how static those aliens look
the face escapes me. whos the black guy in the portraits?
Eddie Murphy.

Things tend to look static in pictures.
Besides, I'm pretty sure the dev has posted some of the alien animations on his twitter. It wouldn't surprise me if some didn't have animations, considering how many there are.

slightly disappointed that the cat-mech is a random monster head and not a playable character :v:

It's been a while since he's been in anything good too
So on Tiy's Twitter he's acknowledged how many people want beta access for pre ordering. What're your guys's thoughts on this?
Personally, I think he should stick to his guns and not release the game til it's ready

Rev up your twitters and say "No"
Rev up your twitters and say "No"
Already did, I hope Tiy ignores the colossal mass of people that just can't wait like a normal person
i had to wait when brawl was gonna be released. again, and again, and again. the beta leak for terraria kinda ruined it for me.
starbound comes out with beta i'm not gettin it.
i'll get the full game, and never look at the wiki.
Tis how i explore!
"Hello there mister green! Welcome to my kingdom, so very nice to revive you!"
"Oh hi king candy."
"Would you like a piece of candy or perhaps a rub job?"
"W-what?"
"Get into my dungeon, you've won."
And that's how I was raped by candyland.
You stole that from Beer and Board Games.

I would most likely play the beta. It is better to have betas so one are able to find bugs and stuff.
But at the other hand, they are giving after for the community, that is dangerous to do in specially early stages of the development. Specially as the community neither can do or will do something for the game.
I do not like their decision to hold on the game and let so few as possible test it before going full release. But giving after for a impatient community that do not do anything else than demand and perhaps hurry the developers are wrong in my option.

I skipped to the exact part when I have never watched that video before.
Now my main question about this is will you have to start from the ground up like in terraria, or will you already have easy access to all the tech and junk. I ask because there are a lot of tunnels and caves and things on some of the planets we have seen, and I'm not really understanding their purpose (aside from exploration).

I could understand wanting to mass beta test for bugs, although that should come significantly later in development. But the way these idiots who keep complaining about no beta see it, the beta is just early access to the game. They really don't have much intention of helping bug test or anything like that.

i'm one of the few who would use a beta for that reason, but not this far from their projected finishing date, it'd feel more like a preview. if i beta test it at all, it'll be like, a month or two before the game comes out. then i feel like i'd be helping the actual release by finding bugs with friends.
For millenia the Apex were close to human in appearance until breakthrough research into accelerated evolution lead to the creation of the “Vestigi-Evo Process”. The VEP allowed the Apex to trade physical devolution for intellectual evolution.
The Apex operate under a collectivist regime controlled by the Miniknog (The Ministry of Scientific Progression). Each Apex dedicates his life to the survival and progression of the Apex as a whole. The nature of this regime allowed the VEP to be administered species wide in less than 10 years.
The most honored members of Apex society are those chosen by the MiniKnog to donate their bodies to furthering the VEP. Those chosen for the experimentation process are rarely seen again, but their names are said to be inscribed on the wall of the chosen which sits deep within the Ministry.
For a time the MiniKnog received criticism from several prominent Apex for what appeared to be a bias towards selecting only the poorest in society to be members of the chosen. This criticism was silenced however when the critics themselves were selected.
There are whispers of a rebel group ready to denounce the MiniKnog and lead the Apex into revolution. But in Apex society discussion of dissension is punishable by death.
Glory to the chosen!

Oh yes, monkey people. Also that's a nice death chamber on the left there.
