Cat piloting a giant penis mech anyone?
no
Mod support sounds brilliant for this game, especialy if you can add extra limbs and limb types to be generated for monsters. Cat piloting a giant penis mech anyone?
Yeah no that just sounds dumb.
One thing I haven't read about: Are there orbital bombardments? Like being able to bomb a planet form the space station and/or spaceships. Would be awesome if you could build more powerful payloads and even turn planets into barren wastes or volcanic hellscapes.
I wonder what resources we'll be able to gather in this game?
Yeah yeah yeah, all you guys can keep talking about your bullshit dragon people and scaly things. You know what I want from this game? Realistic solid/liquid fluid physics. Why? Because I want to crash dropships carrying fully loaded septic tanks into alien settlements. Like just BURY them in shit and garbage. Especially those obnoxious bird people. I HATE birdmen. You remember Xenoclash? I would beat the SHIT out of the birdman in that game. And now I will get the chance to flood his home planet's villages with sewage. YES!
Being limited to two dimensions, good liquid simulation and even solid (deformations and break points) shouldn't be too intensive. Realistic simulation is well beyond the realm of possibility though.
If we get good liquid simulation then we need a race of liquid humanoids we can play as.

Either Japanese sort of mechs (Gundam, Zone of the Enders, Armored Core etc.) or more westernized mechs (Mechwarrior, uhh... ... I can't remember anymore, but you get it) or a completely customizable system with parts from the two genres mixed. But whatever floats your boat!
From the IRC channel I guess (it was posted on the forums)
[16:09] <@Tiy> You can choose a "personality" in the character builder now [16:09] <@Tiy> its fun [16:10] <@Tiy> it changes things like the pose your character takes when he/she stands still [16:10] <@Tiy> enough so that it gives a lot of variety for dudes standing around together [16:11] <@Tiy> also building is incredibly awesome now [16:11] <@Tiy> i think ill do a video on that with the space travel vid [16:11] <TTCBuilder> If you come across a monster that can't see you, what does it do? walk around or just sit there or what? [16:12] <@Tiy> TTCBuilder different npcs have different behaviours

Yeah no that just sounds dumb.
I know. I meant that it'd probably be made if there was mod support. Didn't make that clear enough though.

I hope melee weapon use looks more impressive then it did in Terraria
I hope melee weapon use looks more impressive then it did in Terraria
Good example right there, that sword looks awesome.
Pixel plant cleavage noted. I will be purchasing this game.
I feel terrible whenever I read this thread because I know it isn't coming out for several more months To be honest I don't think they'll be able to finish it this year at all, considering the scale of everything Nevertheless I can't wait to be a plant
I hope melee weapon use looks more impressive then it did in Terraria
I hope different kinds of swords have different animations, rather than every sword using the same animation like in Terraria.

Though if they take longer I'm going to be annoyed as fuck, they launched the website, announced the game, and started hyping this shit in February.
Visible example from Tiy's twitter
Please tell me that I'm not the only one that noticed the George Costanza lookalike in a girly pose.
It could, and likely is, just that they aren't focusing on, you know, everything.
This is how I feel it'll be, on launch we'll have a pretty feature-rich game, but we won't have the mod support or director mode, those and other things will come later down the road.

I hope these personalities are more than just cosmetic; it'd be cool to have a character's personality determine "special options" in dialogue. That is, if there is actual dialogue (in text) as opposed to the NPCs saying something and then you choose an option in the text box that usually doesn't even come close to dialogue.
Dungeon looks very similar to terraria's; hoping it isn't a copy with artstyle-building wise. (and yes I know this is made by mostly different people)
is it weird that i'm not excited for any game coming out in the next year but i'm really excited for starbound it just looks so great. i don't even care if it doesn't live up to everything it promises, it looks so polished already i can tell i'm gonna sink many, many hours into this.
Dungeon entrance
You wander through an alien world, filled with wonder and mystery. You ponder the life that may have been, and very well still may be in this unexplored region of the universe. As you slowly make your way through a life filled forest, you see a faint glow in the distance. As you get closer, you start to make out distinct features, avian-like ones. It appears to be some sort of ancient structure built many many millenia ago by a once proud and prosperous species. The very stones that make up the structure are probably older than your entire species from your home planet. They're very carefully cut and placed and have no gaps between them. You approach closer still, and can make out what looks like a RICKITY FUCKING WOODEN DOOR

it couldn't be too hard to get a secret switch on the back wall to open like a solid stone wall, i could rig something close to that up in terraria.
