I hope there's a grappling hook in the style of Samus' energy grapple thing
The problem is Samus's grappling beam was pretty limited in use, not only because it'd only latch onto certain things, but it had a very fixed way of reeling in/out. What I propose is a Ninja Rope tool, like from the Worms games, as in it latches to any part of the terrain, and you can freely reel it in and out at your own leisure, you'd also be able to select another weapon (Or possibly use the rope as an off-hand tool altogether) while dangling. Shit would be sweet

Well, anyone think there'll be handheld teleporters? [editline]18th October 2012[/editline] If there is I'm so being a terminator.
you guys are just gonna turn starbound into worms
How about just like, a grapple beam that works like Samus' thing, except works on all terrain? not that it would be a bad thing, though.......
I cannot wait for this game, it's going to be the best. Especially if you can be spiderman and it supports mods. Has there been anything about mod support yet?
not that it would be a bad thing, though.......
Yeah. I would imagine it being really hard to get too. But there's one flaw to your idea of a flaw in my plan, Kegan. Terminators need not worry about no battery.
that post was supposed to automerge with the worms video but kegan needs to shut up and enjoy his robots so he doesn't cut my posts in half
that post was supposed to automerge with the worms video but kegan needs to shut up and enjoy his robots so he doesn't cut my posts in half
I don't need to do anything pal. [sp]Disregard what I said earlier, I scrolled up and there the video was[/sp] I'm still wanting to actually see some of the gear you get in this game, I know they've mentioned stomp boots, but I'm sure there'll be a backpack item that boosts Battery regen too, as well as other cool shit like scuba tanks and such
I seriously don't know how you guys can make any other different animations with a sword that doesn't involve stab/overhand swinging alike to Terraria's.
I seriously don't know how you guys can make any other different animations with a sword that doesn't involve stab/overhand swinging alike to Terraria's.
by not just making the character "swing" their arm in a few frames while the sword just lazily glides in an arc
by not just making the character "swing" their arm in a few frames while the sword just lazily glides in an arc
I found this really old image on Tiy's twitter: Starbound's swords might be something like this, but seeing as how this was uploaded back in February it could have changed.
I hope not absolutely everything has to made on a ship. It'd be so cool to have some kind of survival world where a couple players can start out small, and eventually build out factories and have wars over resources.
something just occured to me. How would aquatic space ships work?
Pretty badly.
something just occured to me. How would aquatic space ships work?
Explosively.
OKAY ENOUGH SUGGESTIVE ANDROID PICS. [sp]I don't need robots added to my list of fetishes, thank you.[/sp] Let's get back to talking about Starbound: I'm still wanting a Ninja Rope tool for grappling/swinging/rappelling like a badass
the high end version of it will be samus's grapple beam, it will have combat use!
I would most definitely enjoy a robot race [sp]clang clang[/sp]
clang clang clang clang
Does anyone play Terraria multiplayer anymore? I kinda wanna have a go at it again :<
Does anyone play Terraria multiplayer anymore? I kinda wanna have a go at it again :<
I recently bought it for my friend for his birthday so me and him have been staying up late playing the shit out of it.
I seriously don't know how you guys can make any other different animations with a sword that doesn't involve stab/overhand swinging alike to Terraria's.
I can think of a way. Like a combo attack. Example: (Sorry for the speed, not supposed to be that fast... It's a 3 slash combo.) Large claymore and bulky Cloud-style swords would get 2-3 slow, heavy slashes. Lighter swords, like longswords or laserswords would get 3-4 normal speed slashes. Shortswords and dagger type things would get 4-5 extremely quick slashes. Dual wielding (large swords exempt as they are two-handers) them would add more slashes to the combo, though at the cost of some speed and damage, and more vulnerability to attack, but the damage per second would go up. Of course, the smaller the sword, the less damage, but the DPS goes up. So you have a choice of speed and DPS, or slow and heavy hits that deal all the damage in way less swipes.
Zero is pretty cool even though he's a robot with ass length blonde hair who also happens to be comepletely emo. That's what a lightsaber will do for you.
its true. anakin got a lightsaber then he turned into an emo twat [t]http://images.killermovies.com/s/starwarsepisodeiii/gallery/starwars3_02.jpg[/t]

Barriers: cover your whole body but only absorb some of the damage. Shields: Only cover the part of your body where you aim, but absorb all or almost all of the damage. Shields and barriers need to have different properties as well, so here are a few to start it off. Kinetic 1: Has a chance to reflect projectiles at any enemy at the screen. Kinetic 2: Reflects all projectiles away depending on the positioning of the shield. Explosive: Absorbs damage to fill up a meter and when the meter is full, it lets out a burst of energy, knocking back and dealing small damage to all enemies around the randomly generated blast radius. Elemental: Can apply to most properties, for example an Glacial Kinetic barrier will reflect bullets that have a chance of freezing enemies, while simultaneously giving extra ice defense. All shields and barriers can be different shapes, such as rounded, rectangular, triangular. This can change a lot of the properties, such as: Shockwaves Reflections Explosions Defensive area on shields ( For example: rounded shield would look like this ) and a Linear shield would look like this | as well as the triangular shield > but wider ). I got all of this from Magicka and Borderlands, but it's interesting don't you guys think?
Combat, especially with swords, is not their primary focus. I highly doubt they will get this in-depth.
Well a person can dream though, right?
quit trying to turn the game into worms armageddon
quit trying to turn the game into worms armageddon
Okay as long as you drop the CLANG. Besides more games need fun tools like this. Terraria's hookshot was okay but because it only yanked you straight towards things it was kinda limited in utility. Here's a question for you guys: Stomp boots, or double jump boots
