They're trying to, but they said it's very possible they'll have to delay it to get all the little details in. Also, welcome to Facepunch.

Haha that's good to hear. Mind if I ask what made you think of this as the best one?

There's enough freedom to post what we want, and enough moderation - both by actual mods and peer pressure/the community - to keep topics on track and avoid too much drama. We have very active players in most popular games and even a good chunk of less popular ones as well. The forum isn't strictly for gaming, either - we have a few boards for general discussion and specific hobbies and such. It's a great community in general. Some people are still dicks. You can't completely avoid that, though.

Wow. Just hearing those things makes me feel a whole lot comfortable. Well, considering the board I just came from. After checking out some other posts I immediately noticed what you're talking about. Good thing I stumbled across this board then. Dicks I'm very used to; not in a gay way. Back to the topic. I also wish this game will be priced the same as Terraria. Even though the scale is obviously larger.

It's already been confirmed that they're going to add in a modding API. I think it was stated that even if it's not available at launch, it's one of their bigger goals.

Simple things use stuff similar to raws in Dwarf Fortress, other things are Lua based.

The price seems very reasonable for this kind of game, where content is high and there's potential for high replayability.

I'll probably start crying tears of joy if they release this in December. Terraria is probably my favorite sandbox of all time, and Starbound looks to be it's spiritual successor, which means I am vibrating with excitement. Please oh please, Allah, Jehovah, God, Yahweh, Buddah, Elron Hubbard, Satan, Richard Dawkins, whichever supreme deity is listening to my incredibly nerdy pleas, have this completed and shipped by December.
