Tiy also mentioned there will be no background exclusive blocks, all blocks can be placed in the foreground, or the background.
I actually don't like this, I'd rather it like in terraria where you craft a back block and it gives you 4 for 1, otherwise it will take shitloads of blocks to fill in the back

Looks like items stack up to 1000 in Starbound, so what if you take... say 100 units of stone blocks and make them into 400 stone bricks?
If it takes more resources than in Terraria to construct big things, I'd probably be okay with that. I tend to build small when building for function, and then when I have time to spare and want a new project - like when going to hard mode in Terraria, I needed a house off the ground - I like having a lot to do. I can do it little by little and do other stuff when I need a break.
There are ladders right? That seems like a function that should be present. None of this jumping up platforms crap.
There are ladders right? That seems like a function that should be present. None of this jumping up platforms crap.
cant agree with you more i nice, simple animation for climbing up a couple pixels would be awesome
Fuck, I want ladders so bad. All of my houses and castles in Terraria looked like they were abstract funhouses for 12 year olds because of those damn jumping platforms.
ladders would be nice, i kind want something like a walker, with high jump capability and fall damage reduction. hmm, but it'd have to have some kind of drawback... perhaps limited combat capability?

I want a mech like this.
I want a mech like this.
thats actually what i was kinda thinking of, it would be neat to be able to traverse terrain normally unwalkable by organic life in one of those.
If the game ever bugged out whilst you were in one of those things, you'd be obligated (that's right, OBLIGATED) to say "Get away from her, you glitch!" That moment in the movie was totally Mama Bear.
if possible i would wanna be a squirrel person. and get in one of those and punch aliens.
Anyway livestream screenshots (a bit spoilerish since they show a lot compared to what we have seen to date) http://imageshack.us/g/1/9834774/ Credits to "Skaz"
Oh God thanks for posting the link to this! EDIT Wow, the game looks really polished here. Hope they deliver soon! The spaceship part looks awesome too. Imagine each landscape of the planet your orbiting in changing for each different planet.
http://indiestatik.com/ Chucklefish interview over here!
This might be the interview where I got the info about ships needing fuel and stuff
http://indiestatik.com/ Chucklefish interview over here!
My favorite part from the interview: There's gonna be a wiring system that'll be more complex than Terraria's, but less confusing than Minecraft's.
-snip-
There's gonna be a wiring system that'll be more complex than Terraria's, but less confusing than Minecraft's.
D'you think there'll be programmable chips/compact circuits? 'cause that'd be neat.
http://www.twitch.tv/tiyuri/c/1717855 Seems tiy streamed some starbound and uploaded it.
My favorite part from the interview: There's gonna be a wiring system that'll be more complex than Terraria's, but less confusing than Minecraft's.
But minecraft's isn't confusing.
oh god even the hurt sound is awesome.
http://www.twitch.tv/tiyuri/c/1717855 Seems tiy streamed some starbound and uploaded it.
aaaaa
But minecraft's isn't confusing.
It can be depending on what you're trying to do.
But minecraft's isn't confusing.
Some people just don't understand it still. I think it's easy too use but one of my friends can't even wire up a clock or even multiple pieces of TNT.
the atmosphere when he goes into the cave is amazing
But minecraft's isn't confusing.
I think it has to do with minecraft taking up one block for one redstone component.
There's like a whole hour of game play. Wish we still had the fap emote.
But minecraft's isn't confusing.
It's not especially confusing, but it's incredibly shite because every piece of redstone wire takes up a block. Goddamn ninja.
oh god even the hurt sound is awesome.
A massive upgrade from terraria's dog bark. Also dat sharkman.
That music he started playing at a little over an hour in, is that music from the game? It's fucking sick-nasty. I love it.
