I can totally see building being a huge help against killing monsters without even going near them if you can build traps.
pretty stoked for this
It will probably be a sum-up of today stream. Scroll up this page and you will find the link to the full replay.
the trees wave in the wind :v:
Tiy clarifies a few things on the combat system
Just to address your concerns on the combat system, the melee combat is extremely WIP. The work we've done is in the stats but not in the actual combat yet. Soon weapons will have different weight, animations, mods (things like the sword sending off an arc of flame), etc. The monsters will have various attacks + patterns, and they'll mix and match them to create unique behaviours per monster. The melee combat is going to get a lot closer to the castlevania sotn style of gameplay.
Melee combat did look a bit too simple to be finished. I guess that if they released today it would be way too early to enjoy the game fully.
They should add blocking and dodging. Dodge would be like in the super smash bros series, with you getting behind the enemy if youre successful.
I really hope that all avians don't have those white spots around their eyes. It makes them look like giant cartoon eyes.
Here's that video:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
They've managed to create a visually pleasing big pixel graphic style imo.
That entire awesome base was created from scratch. This game is going to be amazing. As if it wasn't in the first place.

Building actually looks ridiculously fun. Especially with friends.
Not sure if it's odd, but I'm really liking the inventory. Showing the character, the equip slots, and such and it looks very nice. Terraria's was garbage in my opinion, very bad. I know the whole concept was the game play, and not the menus and what not, but damn this is such a nice step up. Good job Tiy. Question here: At the top in the item bar, does it say L and R underneath the middle two items? Is Tiy developing this game for the Xbox? Not to be a jerk but.. I fear the pc version being shafted in features, update, and overall developer care over a more profitible console version.

Remember to get your ape flu vaccinations every year folks!
I want debuffs like disease, broken bones, irradiation and such.
I want debuffs like disease, broken bones, irradiation and such.
That sounds a lot like it would be involved in some kind of survival hardocre mode, which wouldn't be a terrible idea since randomly generated flora and fauna could have extracts which either hurt or help treat your ill effects. That could either mean space cows with wonder milk, or, I dunno, electrified robot flowers?
this is fucking amazing, i was doubtful they could deliver all of these promises they make but now i just...i have a little hope
I would pre-order this so hard.
Well. that video pretty much takes the cake. Couldn't be anymore hyped after that. this is like the ONLY game I feel like I'm allowed to be hyped for, because I simply feel like I won't be let down.
imagine how boring those chairs and desks would be if everything was flat the perspective is mildly offputting but it looks better overall
It's fine when everything is facing the same direction, but it's extremely off when two objects are facing different directions and have flipped lighting. Especially when the two objects are the exact same crate, and they're stacked ontop of each other like in the video.
Meh, we saw the same sort of thing for terraria. Then you get in-game and we all know how bases often end up looking. One issue is that good looking bases are more impractical to move around in due to the whole 2d thing. also those searchlights should act more like searchlights than lamps

You will have tables with just one chair but I don't see any other limit using this perspective.
I like how they just have planet people in-game now
give me this game now
I want debuffs like disease, broken bones, irradiation and such.
And ape flu how could you forget
