I'm pretty fucking hyped for this game. I hope it turns out as great as it looks. Will be an awesome game when it's released for a good week or so, and then after that, it'll be a great time-waster for when I don't have anything better to do (like Terraria was. Complete timesink for a week or so, then after that, I play it whenever I'm bored and nothing else will do).
Do i play as the aquatic race or the robot one?

Reading this thread, I'm surprised there isn't a huge Monster Girl Quest thread (or even subforum) on Facepunch. Seriously, as soon as there was a single image of a female Avian, it exploded into thin-veiled monster porn discussion.
There was this thing underground, it looked like the head of an Alien, but it was stationary. I didn't know if it was an altar or not. Basically, every time I'd hit it, it'd take health off of me. First, it'd take lots off, around 50hp, then it'd reduce as my health got lower, until eventually it would take 1hp off at a time.
What the hell was it? I couldn't figure out how to activate it.

Those things pop up after killing the wall of flesh though, regardless of the addition of new metals.
Anyways back to Starbound discussion: I like that build gun, I also like how you can use it directly for accurate removal of blocks while building, I also noticed both in the building showcase and the livestream that they can open doors while holding weapons/items. Which most likely means there's gonna be a "use" key

You can do that in terraria as well, just right click the door

I like the concept of it, but I can't help but think i'll get a little pissed off after a while with some of the friends I normally play with.
You know how it shows your mouse's relative position the entire time the build beam is out? If [i]any[/i] of my friends move their mouse cursor up to the top of their screen to change their item instead of using the number keys or mousewheel (assuming mousewheel still scrolls through hotbar), I will see every moment of that. Which means that if you get like 4 people building on something at the same time like in the building demonstration you'll most likely see people constantly waving the buildbeam through the air if they're constantly switching through materials.
I hope there is an option to disable the beams of "everybody except you", otherwise i'll just have to live with it.

i'm pretty sure the beam is hidden if you aren't placing anything in the video, it just has the objects floating around instead (which will probably be changed so they're hidden too)

nvm, it looks like the build beam has a certain range anyway, so when they go up to the top of the screen it should disappear.

Here's the thing though: Right click has a purpose in Starbound: using left-handed items or secondary functions of building materials.
