And just what exactly are you trying to prove with your shitty musical accompaniment?
If you guys recall I posted earlier about dumping sewage onto alien villages? Well, it seems like the fluted nature of the floran tree houses is perfect for creating a giant sewage bomb. See, all I need to do, is make a moderately sized hole at the top, pour in the sewage, and then fire a laser or something at it, igniting all the trapped methane.
Operation shitbomb is now a go.

for the first thing, biochemical waste is probably disposed of more efficiently to begin with. 2nd, anyone in their right mind would know its not glass but a forcefield around the cock pit.
i mean cmon, anyone with 1 quintillion of a molecule of brain matter would have guessed that.
Even if it was glass, who the fuck would put normal super-fragile glass on their mech walker?

welp
now I know who my first character's going to be
I'd like hunger, thirst etc so making edible food on a foreign planet can actually be a challenge. But i dont want it to be annoying like basically most hunger systems. so the way you'd get food ideally would be a one time setup on a planet and then its automatic, and eating food would be automatic as well as long as its in your inventory you'd just notice your character munching on it now and then.

What if you're a robot? :v:
Sombody make Jayne Cobb's hat.
Power, oil, maintenance in lieu of hunger, thirst and sleep.

Pretty much every other forum is like this, we just have standards.

That'd be handy, though to me it seems that the point of having a hunger bar is that it is a need to maintain, whereas having auto-eat or auto-drink essentially makes the foood/drink in your inventory a rudimentary extension of your Hunger/Thirst bars.
Normally, needs like this are things one is meant to actively maintain, like in Minecraft, New Vegas Hardcore, DayZ, Lone Survivor (which I quite enjoyed), etc, and it sort of works in those kinda games since they have an emphasis on surviving in a dangerous world. However, I'm wondering; is Starbound meant to have that theme of survival in a dangerous world, or is it more of an adventurous kind of game?
If Starbound is the former, then I'm wondering if having a sort of "auto-maintainance" thing detracts from the experience of "authentic" survival, and I wonder if this kind of dismissive attitude towards taking care of oneself is what spawned things like CoD-style regenerating health; breeding the mindset of "I don't want to waste time taking care of myself, so things should take care of themselves without my involvement", which is something I find to be an unhealthy attitude to take towards things.
However, on the other hand, if your auto-eat is restricted by your available resources, meaning you'd need to top-up your supplies at base, that would probably make a nice compromise between "WAAAGH MOMMY I DON'T WANNA HUNT FOR MEDKITS" (Twitchy Timmy Codfish Jr) and "Open-world survival and managing my needs makes me SOOOOO moist" (Sir Colin Grylls Esquire), balancing the immature attitude of wanting things to sort themselves out against the mature and refined attitude of taking matters into your own hands as you take responsibility for your own wellbeing, finding a middle ground that retains some level of challenge for mature audiences whilst permitting moderate accessibility for younger players.
I'd dearly like to hear your opinions on these theories on design, challenge and accessibility, as well as other ways that you would deal with the issues found in survival mechanics (not just Mattk50; anyone can voice their thoughts on the matter). I hope to see some further discussion on the matter when I return from work tomorrow evening.
if you lets say eat you get something from the eating actually like a buff.

It isn't, people that act like that get dumbed, flamed, and reported to hell and back, from my experience.

It was like 3:30 in the morning when I read this, and for some reason I thought you meant like "It's out but I can't get it" or something, to which I almost had a stroke.
