Excluding the bad sections of other forums and that forum will look better. You can't really judge from an outside perspective.

FP is a better than average forum, especially for a forum dedicated to one game. I joined a couple dozen forums before FP and only one of them do I even still visit. And that one is a rather niche forum anyways. On the subject of this friday's creature: Hopefully that means we see a large variety in monster AI, a hovering ranged kinda enemy could be fun, if a little annoying. The mollusks from Terraria come to mind.
