people always forget that the Kanto half of Gen 2 was bland and empty and just tacked on for the fuck of it you can't use it as much of a case for the game other than to say it made it take longer
I was literally 6 when I played Silver, that shit was bananas back then.
Sexymon. They took some anime dude's face and plastered it on Pokemon. That image is based off of Stealth Rocks. Sawk's is still the best though. It works on so many levels.
it's superman's face from an american cartoon
Silver vs ruby is pretty even imo, silver has more content (kanto + johto) but the story and interesting stuff dry up at the end of johto, ruby has a more varied but smaller region, better grinding and abilities (seriously abilities are one of the most fun parts of the game)
I disagree, I found Ruby pretty bland, I don't remember having a fun time playing it, and in fact, out of all the first 4 generations, it's my least played one. It just felt meh.

It's extremely cool to have two regions in one game, even if the 2nd region didn't have much of a story. It was really cool to see how it turned out, what happened, etc. It makes me wish for the "final" Pokemon game to have every region in one game (only counting the handheld games)
So I did some looking around for my games... (image is missing SoulSilver and black(forgot to get them from the shelf)) Looks like I also lost Leaf Green Shame most of my consoles don't work anymore or have buttons that have been welded from sweets and who knows what when I was young
I remember when I had every game up to R&S. they've all vanished. All I can find is a bootleg version of Japanese Sapphire and Pokemon Crystal. The games I bought/ was gifted after I still have.
Replaying Sapphire, I found a bug. If you go east of Mauville city and to the ledge above the aroma lady, she can climb up the ledge to battle you.
Oh, I've been playing Emerald a shitload since I got it back from my cousin on Wednesday. I have about 33 hours already.

on the subject of metagame things that are awful: permaweather. At uni we play with no permaweather and it's SO MUCH MORE FUN. EVERYTHING IS VIABLE.
And now one can use Tyranitar without permaweather, so double win. Anyway, the only problem of gen 4 was the mountains (you only need a single HM, which is also one of the best moves in the game, to deal with the dreaded ocean; no shit like Rock Smash, Rock Climb and Strenght in every route), and the 30 FPS rate everywhere. And then people want 3D models for the main games. Enjoy your 3D Zubats.
I've said it before, but I'm not sure I like how NARROW one'sselection of tactics and movesets becomes in competitive play.
Re playing fire red. I really hate trying to level up my mankey.
I've said it before, but I'm not sure I like how NARROW one'sselection of tactics and movesets becomes in competitive play.
Play UU or lower. OU is pretty focused. [editline]14th August 2012[/editline] Page king I guess.
Wait, tiers can only battle each other? As in for example uber tier contenders can only challenge others of the same tier?
all pokemon can battle in ubers. ubers are banned in ou. ou and ubers are banned in uu (and bl). so on and so on.
on the subject of metagame things that are awful: permaweather. At uni we play with no permaweather and it's SO MUCH MORE FUN. EVERYTHING IS VIABLE.
Everytime I'm watching Wi-Fi battles on Youtube, as soon as I see permaweather, I click another video. The commentary usually talks about what strategy they use and how they go about it. Upon seeing permaweather, I question the amount of thought and effort that went into that "strategy", so a guy saying that he switches into his Politoed for the tenth time and abusing rain-boosted attacks doesn't sound interesting at all.
I wonder if anyone watches those wifi battles for watching them or for learning strategy. That's how I learned my strategy.
I pull my tactics out of where I pull out my movesets. My ass.
Doesn't it hurt keeping Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Fire Spin, and Ember all up in there?
I used to think i knew allot about pokemon, then i read this thread. I dont think that anymore

Question for you all: Which villain faction has best music? I love Team Rocket as a faction, but Team Galactic's battle theme just rocks my socks.
I pull my tactics out of where I pull out my movesets. My ass.
I try to create my own personalized movesets instead of using the ones you see everywhere. Oh, is that a Technician Scizor with Swords Dance, Bullet Punch, U-Turn, and Superpower? No. It's my Swarm Scizor with Endure, Agility, Reversal, and X-Scissor, holding a Liechi Berry. Use Agility when they switch to a Pokemon that would sponge an "obvious" Bullet Punch or U-Turn, use Endure when necessary, get attack boost, hit with Reversal or STAB/Swarm boosted X-Scissor.
pls Also, your FireRed, Emerald, Gold, Blue and Yellow appear to be fake.
No XD gale of darkness. :c
Question for you all: Which villain faction has best music? For legendary Pokemon themes, Arceus holds up as my fave, mainly because it's just so eery.
Also, your FireRed, Emerald, Gold, Blue and Yellow appear to be fake.
I was about to say. Emerald looked a little funky and the ESRB rating is missing off of some.
Hes right, the ESRB rating is missing off them.
stop posting your game collections, it's making me jealous and sad that seven-year-old me didn't check pockets when doing the laundry.
Also, your FireRed, Emerald, Gold, Blue and Yellow appear to be fake.
If you're saying that because they're transparent you're wrong because that's how they were made. I own FireRed, Emerald and Yellow, and they look perfectly like the ones in that picture.
