didn't get one in the time i tried though
on the topic of shinies, i've never found one in the wild, but i got my first through masuda method.. except it was the one time i wasn't breeding specifically for a shiny; i was breeding elekids because i think electivire is totally awesome looking.
i have a shiny charmander, growlithe and sandile through trades though
First shiny I ever had was this guy
I caught it in Union cave when I decided to randomly fish in the first water spot when you enter.
I was happy and mad at the same time seeing you get the shiny Gyarados for free later on but meh I guess it counts.
Second shiny ever had I ended up hatching and it's this guy
People told me you get a "free" one of these in Black/White 2 but fuck that I hatched mine in First Black. He's fricking awesome.
lol both the red gyarados and black haxorus are free
haxorus you get for completing the unova and/or national dex i believe
My shines;
My Charizard I've had since Fire Red, and my Emerald Rayquaza.

And of course Shiny Gyarados.
i highly doubt it due to the extremely low chances of them being shiny, and those two being the most popular shiny designs of all time.
say that again you fucking prick. i dare you.
You get mad really easy.

Ok now.
My memories just kicked in so I messed up with my shinies.
First shiny I saw ever was this:
Then in gen 3 I saw this piece of shit :
Then my first captured one was this:
And my shinies now are here:

On the topic of shines, I caught my second shiny today.
This guy:
I had this guy a long time ago:
Also I feel like EVing my Herdier, despite his Quiet nature. What should I EV him in?

For Rayquaza, I earned that bastard. I RESET SO MANY TIMES. The only shiny I truly wanted in Emerald.
The Charmander was completely by accident/chance/luck, though.
The first shiny I got was a Shiny Linoone on my old Ruby game.
Then, later, I was in the Cave of Origin for no particular region (i'd already caught Groudon so i guess i was just dicking about?) and found a shiny Zubat.
Unfortunately the shiny Linoone one-hit-ko'd it.
Some time after that, my little brother restarted my game on accident. On replaying it, I found a Shiny Golbat that i evolved into a Shiny Crobat that became one of the few constants on my team.
In Leafgreen version I found a Shiny Paras in the safari zone and caught it. I don't think I ever sent it ahead so it's still in the box.
For Pearl I don't even remember what shinies I got legitimately because I ended up using Action Replay for some reason.
I think I got the most shinies in SoulSilver: a Shiny Tentacruel on route 4-something (right by Olivine City) and a Shiny Caterpie in the bug catching contest within the same week.
Also, I chained a Shiny Shinx on my brother's Platinum version. The reason I chained it is because I was actually doing a school project where you have to teach the class how to do something and I wanted to teach people about spergy things in Pokemon games for some reason. Shinx's nickname was put up to a vote and now he's called Kemosabe.
(That's also the only shiny i've ever properly chained; I saw the shiny patch on like round 16.)
In the process of chaining I got a Shiny Starly and a Shiny Bidoof, both apparently randomly (no shiny patch).
Regarding Shinies, I like how they actually started calling them 'Shiny' instead of 'alternately colored'. It's just cool when you show that you pay attention to your community.

Do not make it happen all over again here.
I had a justified cause for saying that, so don't even get started before one of us needs a counselor, and it wouldn't be me.

Stop trying to acting tough over the internet, and get back to talking about Pokemon.

go to the Pokemon Ragdoll Thread to see why i try to stop him. it lasts quite a few pages
it can easily ruin a thread and he usually targets me [sp]MIB23, don't even try using this as material to start[/sp]
it's serious shit and i've had about enough with him and a few people in real life who've been targeting me to bully after seeing slight faults
anyway,
LET'S TALK ABOUT NOT-SO-BELOVED POKEMON AND WHY THEY AREN'T-SO-BELOVED
Ok, so. I'm must gonna go ahead and say that I have never actually completed a Pokemon game in my entire life, and I feel like I really need to fix that.
So, Ill be playing 1 game from each gen.
Is there anything I should know beforehand that isn't already in the OP?

Just have fun with it, if anything note the major gameplay changes from each gen like type additions and typing balances (Gen 2), ability additions (Gen 3) and Attack and Special Attack seperations for different typed moves (Gen 4).

I'm glad all of those kids stay in there instead of talking about pokemon here because they are some of the worst posters on this entire forum

Find and use a psychic type. (in the first gen at least)

Combee is a cutie and I love them so much.
A lot of bug Pokémon seem to be very underloved.

most of them are 18 and older. funny thing is, MenInBlack23 acts the most immature at the age of 23 and me and a 13 year old are more mature than him
also, it's not a thread where people just chat chat chat, it's one for progress and proof

When were they ever called that. I've called them shiny for as long as I can remember. Except the shiny gyrados in gold/silver was always referred to as the red gyrados by my friends and I.
Until gen5 (I think? Might have been gen4) there was never any official name for shinies afaik.
Communities been calling them shiny since gen2 though.

actually, it started as "shining", then was shortened to "shiny" later
also, i think the D/P national dex guide called it shiny first

In Unova in Nimbasa city some people in one of the houses talk about shiny krokoroks
