A No Guard Dynalurk is great yes, but I'm sworn to use this guy.
Can't remember if I've ever seen any others in the wild but I traded something for my brother's Adamant, great IV placement and Iron Fisted Golett
You could try a SubPunch set instead of Hammer Arm and Mega Punch, the latter of is not that great on a Ghost type. Still, try the Curse set with Hammer Arm if you wish; I tend to find Roar and Whirlwind better for breaking Pass Chains, but my opinion. And Focus Punch comes really late, and is kinda hard to use (still, I just love my SubPunching Poliwrath, and my SporePunching Breloom).

I'm supposed to be trading a guy for one of those, but he doesn't have access to wi-fi at the moment. I could try pestering him about it again, it's been a while.

The key with curse isn't that it stops baton passers but it's incredibly useful in a lot of situations.
Enemy has pokemon that's going to kill your poke or your switch in? Curse it, force a switch or kill it.
Enemy thinks they can stall you with toxic? Curse it.
Enemy uses ingrain? Cackle maniacally.
Your pokemon is dead in the water? Curse and get a debuff on your opponent and a safe switchin.
Enemy is spamming protect, sub, fake out, sucker punch, boost moves, baton pass? Curse it and shut that bitch dowwwwn.
Ghost-curse is also the best thing ever for stopping subpunchers.
It was really just curiosity, but I might add it to my own Golurk that's well suited for competitive play.
Currently rolling Earthquake, Shadow Punch, Hammer Arm and Mega Punch (Iron Fist) so I might go to a move relearner and switch out Mega Punch for Curse.
DEFINITELY RUN CURSE OVER MEGA PUNCH.
Seriously even with iron fist mega punch is god awful.

Once B/W2 rolls around, you can replace Mega Punch with one of the elemental punches, and you also have a form of recovery in Drain Punch. Those are some things to think about.
I myself have a Golurk with Substitute, Shadow Punch, Drain Punch, and Earthquake. It's really swell.
Drain punch is da bomb. Can't wait to make a bulkup gallade with drain punch in BW2

I have to disagree on a move who requires you to lose half your HP and whose best use is a pseudo-hazing maneuver to be useful. Will-O-Wisp does a better job as a gradual grinding move, doesn't cripple you, shuts down physical attackers as well, and isn't cured by switching out. So not that great of a move.
it's not a phazing move. when I use it 90% of the time the opponent stays in and I'm fine with that.
Will-o-wisp is not a better DoT, curse is a 4 turn kill, will-o-wisp is 8 turns. It puts you ropponent on a knife edge, they stay in and possibly kill your weakened pokemon (protip if you're using curse right you're either sacrificing the pokemon or you've got painsplit/recovery so they probably won't kill your poke unless you allow it) or they switch giving you tempo.
Average encounter with my dusclops goes like this:
Enemy hits dusclops or tries to set up. Neither are a huge iissue, lets assume they attack.
Dusclops usually takes around 20% of his HP in damage. Then he curses, putting him on 30% hp, they take 25% at the end of the turnn.
The enemy either stays in (bad idea) or switches (bad idea)
Regardless of their choice I'm painsplitting.
They stay in and attack me, puts dusclops down to around 10%. Then he pain splits, putting himself on around 70-100% HP, putting them down to around 30-40% hp. They get hit by curse and they're on 15-25% hp. From there I can either switch out (since they're switching or dying) shadow sneak to kill the lower hp survivors, or will-o-wisp on the predicted switch. If they stay in they die no matter what, if they switch i'ms till usually ahead.
If they switch out, dusclops pain splits, heals himself (usually to 100%) and thencan either stall, willowisp if they're physical (after which point he can curse away quite happily) or switch to a better pokemon.
Dusclops is a really good user but on other pokemon it's excellent too. On drifblim I like to run focus sash and unburden. IT has several uses before it dies, but my favourite is focus sash getting hit, unburden triggering and then getting a curse off before drifblim dies. Certainly it's not ideal to lose a pokemon, but essentially it turns a situation where drifblim had a 100% chance of dying into a situation where he dies but the enemy has to switch or is in pain.
On top of it all, curse is just good as a surprise weapon, nobody expects it because they think it's crap but I think it's one of the most balanced moves game freak have made. It's not powerful enough to demand attention but it does more than enough to throw a spanner in anyones works. Put toxic spikes and curse together on a team and you've got a horrifying stall combo going.
I never really cared much about mystery dungeon
mostly because bandanas are really gay

oh dizzayum that's what I always ran on my Gallade in Platinum. Everybody always whored out and used Swords Dance and Close Combat.
bro five
Besides Stockpile, Drain Punch is probably my favorite move.
Red team before legendary Pokemon.

Because my butterfree owns, especially after feeding it a bunch of protein and such
butterfree owns, especially after feeding it a bunch of protein and such
I'm making a face of indeterminate feelings right now. It hurts.
Butterfree's attack is garbage, boosting it was a fruitless effort. But if you mean the other stat boosting nutrients too, ok then. But they would've been much more worthwhile on a different Pokemon, it's like throwing a bar of soap in a heap of garbage to tame the smell. It doesn't have stab, it can't take a hit, and Sleep Powder's shaky accuracy is often a letdown.
MissingNo. makes it really easy though.
Sorry to offend!!

It's not like he's going to be playing comp.
If he likes using Butterfree there's nothing really wrong with using Butterfree.
In fact, if I go back and play Red or Blue again I'm going to raise a team of only Butterfree because gimme a good reason not to
[SUB]that's right you can't because Butterfree is the best pokemon ever[/SUB]
Butterfree gets confusion which is like the second best move in Red/Blue.
[editline]16th September 2012[/editline]
Best move being Psychic of course
I love these two posters
Butterfree was only useful to me in Yellow, to use against Brock.

Compoundeyes and sleep powder = spore, by the way. Any pokemon with spore is powerful in my book.
Not to mention quiver dance, tailwind, tinted lens and other riblagulous toys. Butterfrees stats are it's only weakness imo.
(and stealth rock)

It's less that butterfree sucks (he does suck, sadly.) and more that he used proteins on a special attacker.
It sucks when you have to try and revert your mind to the time when types dictated if they were SP.ATK or ATK moves.
Otherwise the only moves viable back then for a Physical Butterfree were Razor Wind, Double-Edge, Swift.... and of course the best move of [del]all time[/del] it's time is Hyper Beam.

Used all Stat boosters
Stop picking on me for my choice for Pokemon!
What the fuck guys Butterfree is fucking imba.
Make it so you're faster than your opponents to sleep them at the very beginning then shit on their face with different powerful skills like Psybeam or Silver Wind.

Actually I just realised we're all wrong for picking on you.
In RBY all the stats can be EV trained to max so using all your drugs on all your pokemon is actually the right thing to do.
I apologise.
