Metapod is better than Butterfree imo.
Because of it's better defensive stats and motherfucking harden.

...And the most infamous butt of all the penis jokes. I'm not even gonna begin on Harden, Pound and String Shot.
Shiny Butterfree is pretty fucking cool.

JESUS THIS LOOKS COOL.
okay time to farm one
I like the fact that they're making a new pokemon mystery dungeon, I dislike the fact that it is only for the 3ds though, I don't have a 3ds and 3ds games are not common in this city.
Venomoth is and has always been superior to both Butterfree and Beedrill. Factual information.
It's not like he's going to be playing comp.
If he likes using Butterfree there's nothing really wrong with using Butterfree.
In fact, if I go back and play Red or Blue again I'm going to raise a team of only Butterfree because gimme a good reason not to
[SUB]that's right you can't because Butterfree is the best pokemon ever[/SUB]
Well, I didn't say that he shouldn't use Butterfree. In fact, I highly encourage use of underappreciated Pokemon. I just said that using all of his nutrient-boosting items on it was a futile effort to fix its shoddy stats. However, he said he used the missingno glitch, so he has pretty much all the steroids he needs; there's no problem here. All that comes down to it is his movepool.
But yeah, Butterfree really didn't become viable until gen 3, when he got Compundeyes, and got an even bigger boost in gen 5 in the form of Quiver Dance.
Nutrients alone aren't going to be enough, you're going to need to do some EV training to get anywhere really.

The way Gen 1 Effort Values work, that shouldn't be a problem before getting to level 100, as long as Rare Candies aren't involved.
Even then, the Box trick can always be utilized after getting to level 100.
I feel like posting music.

Also, Butterfree.
shiny roserade is pretty neat too
Coincidentally, I also wish to post some music that I found.

It's a remix of Olivine City's theme, with a little bit of everything flung in.

Psychic, Razorwind, Sleep Powder, Mega Drain.
Not the best, but whatever.
Butterfree.

Being reminded of Red's battle at the end of GSC... I think that's what I miss the most about RBY/GSC. The story was a lot more basic. "Defeat the Gyms, defeat the E4, become the Champion. Oh and go catch every Pokémon." Team Rocket was never overly forced on you, really. The incident at Mt. Moon is kind of an "oh hey we're here", Nugget Bridge was almost an afterthought, the Dig TM fiasco was again an afterthought... the only real major appearances were Celadon and Silph Co.,. Saving the world wasn't priority, it just kind of happened on your adventure.
RSE, and Teams Aqua and Magma from the get go start stealing shit and causing all sorts of trouble and kind of get pushed on you. "Go save the world from the big bad evil guys!" Same with everything since.
On top of that they started forcing legendaries on you. In RBY legendaries were only spoken of and brought up a select few times. You kind of had to look and know where you were going to get most if not all of them. GSC had a bit more inclusion but I don't remember them being paramount to the story. Then in RSE, you've GOT to face the respective Legendary, whether you defeat or capture them. Same with DPPt and B/W.
Saving the world and catching Legendaries should really fall second to the hero or heroine's story. It's more about the player and them becoming the greatest Trainer of all time, and catching all the Pokémon. Not them going out and saving the world and becoming a legend by catching Legendary Pokémon.
More like.

This is still my absolute favorite theme.
So many chills.
I wish you could sell stuff to maniacs in bulk. It gets kind of annoying selling all of your Star Pieces to that guy who needs an 'ore to shake his core'.

they need to improve that, and need to have it so the pokedex also shows pokemon's egg groups and lets you search pokemon by egg group, along with species in alphabetical order, and show abilities in search or order. i think it'd also be cool if you could actually get different clothes for the player to wear, and you could buy certain ones each season and wear certain ones each season along wiht set which one is automatically put on when that season comes.

This is sadly the only music from B/W I really enjoyed. Low health music was the best feature ever but I just felt the soundtrack overall was rather lacking.

I enjoyed it. I feel like there weren't enough Route themes, though. Maybe that's because there's so few routes, and it's just me. I didn't really like them, though.
Also, I prefer Black 2 and White 2's Team Plasma battle theme much more than Black and White's.
I have a massive soft spot for bit tunes so the newer music just doesn't feel as upbeat as gens 1-3.
The music isn't bad, but I don't really enjoy listening to it.
Speaking of music...
B2/W2's title screen music does NOT sound like it should be able to come out of a regular old DS' speakers. It sounds like a fucking live recorded Orchestra, not built in sequenced game instruments.

"The official site has updated with the first decent sized screenshots of the new game: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate & The Infinite Labyrinth. It also provides so new information. The main town in this game is called Post Town, and the game features many of the old mechanics, including four moves, tiles that boost stats and more. These screenshots have all been added to our special pre-release screenshot gallery so click the image to go there which is being continually updated
Edit @ 16:18: Updated the images to ALL be full sized so click the image to check the gallery. Also of note is that you don't get a quiz to pick your Pokémon, it is done via a view through the 3DS camera of the player. Exact requirements aren't known" -SPP

It's such a shame because Game Freak improved on one of the most annoying things in past generations, but by improving the other battle music so much this version is still the worst one.
Screw all that music!
Nothing beats the feeling of this, followed by the disappointment that you've beaten the leader before the good part comes.
