Congratulations. The Black & White and Noble Victories Secret Rares were kind of lame, in my opinion. Shinies are much cooler. But really, congrats.
Pokemon cards today are really extreme. They used to rarely break 30 damage if they were a basic Pokemon that could evolve, and if they did, there were usually repercussions.
I know that is a really rare card, but still. Even when 5th gen wasn't out, I had a Magnemite that could confuse a Pokemon and do 40 damage. That's 70 damage in one turn if they fail the coin flip.
Goodness sake.

I've noticed that too. I guess it's a bit like inflation or something. They just gradually got bulkier and stronger.

Damn, I'm late. Oh well.
Could also be a way to intice people to buy the newer cards as they get slowly stronger, thus become better additions to their decks than the older weaker ones.
[editline]23rd September 2012[/editline]
That, or they fucked up with the balancing somewhere and they just rolled with it.

Not every card game can have as much thought put into it as MtG. Pokemon's trading cards are 90% money farm, 10% actual balance. Power creep the shit out of those cards.

By the way check out your profile messages.

The older sets go out of print and are cycled out of the Modified format eventually, though. Sucks for anyone who wants to play Unlimited, still.

It's always bothered me how it appears that the button is attached to the wrong half of the Poké Ball on the back of the cards.
It just looks weird to me when I dwell on it.
I don't remember too much about that game, but it had some sweet music.
Never noticed that, if anything I always thought it was closed.

I remember making cards on coloured cardboards when I was a kid (Gen II just came out), and the cards I made, now that I look back, had the same exact of power creep today's card have.
Back then I though all those retreat costs and energy discarding stuff was way too punishing rather than rewarding. I guess the people in charge of the TCG today though the same thing :v:
This, is my artistic approach as to what happens if you have an Aron attack a Lillipup while it's evolving:
[t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/31693224/Pokemans/herdierp.png[/t]
Sanic's Tackle disrupted the Lillishit's sudden evolution, sending a shockwave through the poor puppy's changing body. Due to this, the shining white form starts to contort in strange and unsightly ways.
After 20secs of this weird phenomenon, the Pokémon stops shining, and it's body is a mess of limbs being where they shouldn't be

Just two weeks now.

Good ones only.
Jesus Christ, the pace of Gen 4 compared to Gen 5 is unbearable.
2 hours into playing and not even all my Pokemon are at level 10 before the first badge.
In Black it only took me about 30 minutes to do that.
I cannot go through this game if the entirety is like this. I hardly remember anything about Diamond/Pearl so I don't know if it is or not.
