How does Pokerus work anyway? I got a zubat from a friend with it and heard "cram it in a box and it'll infect all your pokemon" and... nothings really happening. To be honest I don't even know what it does v:v:v
You have to have it in your party. Then do some random wild battles. It'll spread after a while. I've accidentally knocked out Mesprit and Regirock. Woo.
p sure it has to be in your party to infect pokemon
This is true, but any active Pokerus Pokemon in your party can get cured pretty quick, so you want to keep at least one Pokemon with it active in your box (where it can't be cured)
This is true, but any active Pokerus Pokemon in your party can get cured pretty quick, so you want to keep at least one Pokemon with it active in your box (where it can't be cured)
Actually it can cure itself in a box. After years of not touching my copy of Ruby, I grabbed it to transfer Pokemon to Black. In the box there were many Pokemon with cured Pokerus. Only 1-2 remained with Pokerus still active. And I KNOW I never had Pokerus while I was still playing the game. So it can, it probably just takes a really long time. Though that was Gen 3 so I don't know if it has changed.
And I KNOW I never had Pokerus while I was still playing the game.
Wait, so you're saying it randomly appeared in your box? Or maybe you didn't notice it spread, and cure on some of your party. At any rate, I don't recall finding Pokerus on my Emerald so I'm not sure, but that is certainly how it works on Gen IV and V.
I had to look up Pokerus to know what the hell you were talking about. I have never seen that in my entire time of playing, I didn't even know it existed :v:

I caught a Pokemon with Pokerus once. It just so happened to be that I was looking for a Drilbur, and wham. It had Pokerus, as none of my Pokemon had it before I caught that Drilbur. It also had a Jolly nature.

All on Pokemon I have never used, and I know they didn't have Pokerus when caught. The Pokemon in my party at the time did not have it. Though when I picked up the game to transfer Pokemon, the timer battery had ran dry, so maybe it was a bug related to that.
Wow that is strange i haven't gotten Pokerus on my pokemon yet
Well apparently wild pokemon have a 3 in 65,536 chance of having it...so basically rarer than a shiny. Much easier to just trade for something with it.

But when I do reach the Nature area, going to get a black Haxorus, also, I still have to finish the Tower and get the Gible(shiny). Still, it doesn't count since its "given" to you.

I completely forgot that one :downs:
Thinking of starting red from the beginning again (but only because I can't find my copy of sapphire), I'm in a pokemon mood. Also what are your guys views on fake pokemon games, stuff like quartz?
i dont remember blastoise being this deformed
Has anyone else realized how forgettable 4th Gen is? Like, maybe it's because 3rd generation was still during my childhood where everything stuck and 5th is the most recent, but like, I totally forget most of the 4th gen... Like seriously I ran into a Floatzel today in Black 2 and was like "what the fuck, I forgot that existed"

Daresay they're my favorite games out of all the main series.

I'm 18, so D/P came out when I was like a 13 year old in middle school, where every kid in the entire school played. Twas amazing, I had like an epic 500 hour save file. My interest started fading for later games, it took me like 6 months to care enough to even finish Black. And I literally keep seeing pictures of 5th gen Pokemon I'm pretty sure I've never seen in my life (although I'm starting to ease back into it, probably gonna buy BW2). So I'm pretty sure it depends on which games we played in our childhood. XD
3rd gen stands out the least to me, and I played through each entry. Maybe I got so bored of Hoenn, I subconsciously wiped the region from my mind. Except for Rayquaza, I LOVE Rayquaza.
Most of my favorite pokemon are 3rd/4th Gen. I guess my top ten pokemon are (In order) Vaporeon Latias Jirachi Gallade Togekiss Zoroark Mew Salamence fuck it I can't think of two more pokemon that I like.
i dont remember blastoise being this deformed
Japanese sprites from green and red, redone in colour. The sprites where changed to look more like the anime for western release iirc. [editline]20th October 2012[/editline] I still need to buy black or white, I've just been putting it of because I can't be arsed to put my my ds' back together.
Japanese sprites from green and red, redone in colour. Red/Green were a lot worse on a lot of them, though there were a few gems.

Except for Rayquaza, I LOVE Rayquaza.
It was sort of the same to me, there was a lot of stuff I didn't like about that gen when I first played it; mostly the senseless removing of a lot of innovations made in Gen II, like day cycles, backwards compatibility (I though they removed it to force you to buy Pokemon Colloseum and other spinoffs instead of transfering Gen I/II pokemon from RBY/GSC; later I discovered it was because the massive overhaul of the game mechanics made the games' structures totally incompatible) and the letter system (Maybe that's just me because I really hated the new system, but whatever), but after a while I looked back and saw it actually benefited the franchise a lot (Abilities, the much better and efficient metagame like the EV system, a good storage system, berries, etc...) and started enjoying it much more.
Nah I'm pretty sure those are international Red/Blue release, not Japanese Red/Green. Also 3rd gen never really stood out for me, it kinda just blended with 2nd, even though Colosseum was the game of my childhood.
One thing I did love about Gen III a lot though, mostly back in the day, were the secret bases. Why didn't Game Freak stick with that concept? It was the most awesome new feature in the games, and the best part about it was that you could get your friends' bases in your game and challenge them kind of like the Mystery Gift thing on the Trainer House from GSC's Viridian City. Talking about that, why did Game Freak make the Trainer House in HG/SS more like the Battle Frontier? It was cool when you could level up your pokemon there and have extra pokedex entries too
I have never completed a gen 4 game. And I do own both Pearl and Diamond. I just dont know.. The game feels a bit slow to me and I can't really get compelled to the gen 4 Poke's.
Hell yes. Just got an Espeon with pokerus through the gts. Time to go EV train some Volcaronas.
