I prefer this. Plus they aren't ripping people off with those "unlocked" games.
What is this?
I've got a question about the TCG, can you use any pokemon cards, even ones form like 98? I have/had a pretty decent deck that used a bunch of the old machops, and I want to know if I could legally use it. Its a shame phoenix games shut down, I never got a chance to play a match
In official tournaments and such they have to be from B/W era, so sadly no old cards. No reason why you can't play against friends though.
In general, the newer cards are better as well so old ones aren't that viable anyway
Decided to get a single pack of cards. Wasn't disappointed. The only ones that really matter (to me):

Also got some Charmanders, aiming for this pack's Charizard, though. Boundaries Crossed, by the way.

I just want Minccino and Cinccino and Joltik because they're all so adorable. :3 Emerging Powers set here.
Also my new mousepad came in!

Quick Balls are twice as effective as Ultra Balls if thrown in the first turn. Flinging one is like flinging a Pokeball at something asleep and at half health. Works wonders for MANY things.
YES! Masuda method finally worked! New addition:

Damnit, I haven't been able to find a machop with a good a move set as the gen1 one (then again I haven't exactly bee trying) but still, I've noticed that the more recent cards need more and more normal energys to do any move, whereas his move was only fighting energy.
That now means these 500+ first gen cards are fucking useless. Some of them are promos (I mewtwo and some other one) but still.

And before you ask none of them are 1st edition, maybe one or two, but are almost all the later reprints.
So I just picked up Black 2, how exactly do I get Genesect?

D-do you have Charizard?
D-do you have Charizard?
I fuckin wish man, I know a guy who had a shinny first edition charizard from the base set, I still go to the same school as him but he's 16 and I'm a year bellow him, its kinda weird asking him if he still has it you know what I mean?
Cardgames in general used to be massive at school (Yu Gi Oh, Pokemon, heck, even duel masters for a bit) but every few months it would switch to the latest fad or cardgame. Because I was friends with a guy who basically ran the playground, when *insert cardgame here* got old, he made sure I got all the cards that no one liked, meaning I ended up with thousands of Yu Gi Oh and pokemon cards. I kept on bringing them back, I was like a trendsetter. I also told kids about the signs in the left of the cards, they didn't know what it meant. In retrospect this was a bad idea as it caused so many fights (and I coulda got some rare cards easily) but it was fun.
Still never battled anyone ever, people just liked the pictures.
I want to make a deck with my extra Giratina EX. Problem is, I'll need more.
I'm in Victory Road, and all of my Pokémon are Level 54-56. I'm doing Challenge Mode, and Iris' Pokémon are Level 61-63.
I'm scared.
Anyone willing to give input on my White 2 setup? I'm having trouble deciding what should be the 6th member of my merry little band.
+Tyranitar [84]
Giga Impact
Stealth Rock
Earthquake
Crunch
+Ampharos [62]
Power Gem
Thunder
Signal Beam
Rain Dance
+Aggron [75]
Iron Head
Double Edge
Sandstorm
Thunderwave
+Vaporeon [54]
Surf
Shadowball
Icebeam
Hyperbeam
+Haxorus [89]
Strength
Outrage
Dragon Pulse
Giga Impact
Was thinking about an Absol, or maybe Dragonite. I don't do competitive/online battling [since it's unanimous in the household for the router security to stay the same], but would like someone who balances well in the team.
Given the game mechanics of both Hyper Beam and Giga Impact I'd suggest other attacks instead of those (For example, Rock Slide/Stone Edge/A Special coverage attack for your Tyranitar or Brick Break / Superpower on Haxorus)
Talking about Haxorus, its Special Attack stat is really low, something like Dragon Dance would be much more fitting instead of Dragon Pulse
I getcha. Haxorus is Adamant, so that hurts his Sp. attack even more. Giga was a last minute pop onto him since it worked really well on Tyranitar [who originally had Stone Edge]. I probably will wind up putting Dragon Dance back on, since I poured PP UP into Outrage and getting more support for that would work wonders.
Hyper beam was put on Vap to be an answer for off types. I really have nothing to say in defense of him since my fiance' had helped with that move set. [/shrug]
Hyper Beam/Giga Impact is much better in-game since you have the opportunity to switch out after you take down a Pokemon and you're fighting multiple trainers with few Pokemon. So, on turns when you're going to KO the opponent or it's their last Pokemon, it's pretty handy.
Terrible against real people though
You can't shift out from Hyber Beam recharge.
+Aggron [75]
Iron Head
Double Edge
Sandstorm
Thunderwave
I'd switch double edge for earthquake or rock slide in Aagron, and iron head for havy slam simple because of how heavy aagron is
I'd switch double edge for earthquake or rock slide in Aagron, and iron head for havy slam simple because of how heavy aagron is
Mmokies, will take that into consideration. :D
He also has the ability that negates the recoil damage effect and I popped a rocky helmet on him so any physical damage that would be done to him from the opponent results in recoil to them.
Heavy Slam is based on weight difference, not total weight, and so is not that great; Iron Head is more consistent.
So I beat Iris on Challenge Mode. My Lucario raped half of her team until she sent out that damn Haxorus. So yeah.
So I re-decided on my team. Although, I did almost beat another person(after going against my own team with the other person's team), knocked out 4 of 6(and apparently, it is a hacked team, perfect natures, IV/EVs and high PPs).
Any changes to suggest?
Haxorus(Adamant):
Ability: Rivalry
Item: Dragon Fang(right now)
Dragon Claw
Swords Dance
Return(temporary)
Bulldoze
Samurott(Naughty)
Ability: Torrent
Item: Mystic Water
Waterfall
Surf
Ice Beam
Megahorn
Volcarona(Bold)
Item: Fire Gem(change?)
Ability: Flame Body
Psychic
Fiery Dance
Quiver Dance
Bug Buzz
Garchomp(Mild):
Item: Life Orb(usually)
Ability: Sand Veil
Dragon Claw
(not sure on this, need a good one)
Earthquake
Outrage
Metagross(Adamant)
Item: none
Ability: Light Metal
Zen Headbutt
Hammer Arm
Iron Head
Meteor Mash
Hydreigon(Hardy):
Item: Draco Plate
Ability: Levitate
U-Turn
Thunder Wave
Dark Pulse
Dragon Pulse
Any tips?
Wow, no one's posted this yet?
A new event has been announced for Japan. In Pokémon Centres and various other retailers including Toys 'R' Us across the country, you'll be able to receive Groudon or Kyogre in your games to tie in with the 10th anniversary of Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire. If you have Black 2, you will be able to receive the Pokémon Groudon whereas if you have White 2, you will receive the Pokémon Kyogre. It is unknown if these events have anything special. They will run from November 21st 2012 to January 10th 2013
It's coming...
Too bad they're local events, much less in Japan. At least this is evidence of what is too epic to name...
Also:
Following on from the teaser trailer revealed at the end of the recent movie in Japan, it has been announced that, as per usual, the first details of the next movie, due for release in Summer 2013, will be given within CoroCoro next month, due out on December 15th. This movie , based on the teaser trailer in July, may feature the Mythical Pokémon Genesect. We'll provide the details as and when they come
If they're giving away a Groudon and Kyogre just like that, then I don't think e will get a Ruby Sapphire Remake.
HOWEVER, maybe they'll do just one solid Emerald reboot? Which was better, anyway.
Third games don't get remade. There isn't a SpiritCrystal or ThunderYellow, is there?
It's funny anyway: I just bought a DSi XL from my friend so now I can use the PokeTransfer. I transfored all three Hoenn Legendaries.
Eh, I guess I'll get them and trade them for something else.

Not to argue for any one side, but we've never had a direct sequel until BW2. The fact that third games never having had a remake doesn't hold much weight after that.
10th anniversary of ruby and sapphire?
i feel old
I don't know why, but I always have a problem beating Clair. Her Dragon types are too fucking bulky for my Shellder, and I can't really get any other dragon types. Doesn't help that her Pokemon are 4-5 levels higher than me. Not really my fault that all of the trainers prior to her gym had pokemon in their late 20's.

Well HG/SS were more akin to a Gold/Crystal and Silver/Crystal hybrid than a straight Gold/Silver remake. The whole arc with Suicune was exclusive to Crystal. :v:
I got a little excited when I saw Kyogre and Groudon on Serebii. However, I also believe that it is evidence against potential remakes.
