Doesn't look so bad now that I see more of the other gameplay footage

Damn auto-merge
It looks like the final fantasy tactics of Pokemon.
And I'm okay with this.
Make this:

Or the thing from B/W

Unova badges are quite different so I think I'll probably have a seperate case but the top one doesn't sound too bad.
If anything I think the idea of making them their own special case would be awesome enough, like a symbol on the case specific for their region.
The wild Pokemon AI is exceptionally stupid in B/W.
Run into Golduck
Send out water type
Golduck uses soak
Water type turns into water type

It's because wild pokemon pick a random move.
Trainers have a little bit of AI, but it's still semi-random.
I think battle subway has fairly in depth AI, I also think they cheat sometimes (they predict switchins WAY TOO OFTEN)
I would've at least hoped that it'd avoid damn pointless moves but... Meh.
Speaking of God Damn Stupid AI...
About Gen 1 again.

(Yes, this is a hacked game but the battles themselves like this are not modified.)
In case you were wondering, this happened because the first gen AI always used a* super-effective attack if it had one, regardless of whether it did damage or not. Zubat is Poison type, Agility is Psychic type, thus the Agility spam.
Now you know, and knowing is half the battle. The other half is fighting against a really crappy AI.
Wow.

Seeing this video reminded me: you know what I miss? Moves that were powerful FEELING powerful. My main gripe is Ice Beam. One of the most powerful Ice-type moves. Most powerful with 100% accuracy, even. In Gen I, it was this crazy ass beam that slaughtered everything. Now it's just this dinky little beam that doesn't feel like it has any power behind it.
[editline]17th February 2012[/editline]
Wait, no, I was thinking of Aurora Beam.

Still better than the pissant beam of current gens, though.
Gen1 Beams were the coolest beams imo.
Gen1 Beams were the coolest beams imo.
Gen 1 beams looked like kamehameha's. They were awesome.
Hydro Pump looked like screws.
The sprites/effects and sounds from the stronger Gen 1 moves were like HOLY FUCK FLASHING SCREEN SHIT EVERYWHERE SO MANY SOUNDS OH GOD
I've gotten minor headaches from Elite Four battles.
Seeing this video reminded me: you know what I miss? Moves that were powerful FEELING powerful.
I disagree. In the earlier gens, it just felt like lifeless, but now, with moves like Surf shaking the screen, with huge, moving effects, feels powerful and badass.

Surf filled your ENTIRE SCREEN WITH WATER in gen1. Like it FLOODED. Pretty much any move with more than 70 power shook the screen the entire time, several of the more powerful moves INVERTED THE ENTIRE SCREEN and STROBED LIKE MOTHERFUCKERS.
Gen1 attacks were INTENSE.

They were intense but looked like graphical errors more than attacks. When I used thunderbolt for the first time I thought my copy was broken.

Gen II Surf was more like that, instead of random water drops and screws up and down it looked line an actual flood
Anyone have a Skarmory and Nincada/Ninjask they'd trade me? Gen 5. I can try to get you something you'd like instead of just random crap Pokémon (keep it fair, no asking for Zekrom).
[editline]17th February 2012[/editline]
I should also clarify: I'm heading to bed right now, so it'll probably be about 6-9 hours before I can trade. :v:
I wish my childhood mind wasn't terrible, I can only remember very small pieces of playing pokemon as a kid.
Ok so I've heard around the web that Hydreigon and co were originally meant to be all robotic and tank like.
Holy fuck that should've happened.
Imo that woulda been stepping way too far out of Pokemon design..
Hell that's not even in the Digimon direction.

Dude, Tankdragon.
Imagine Metagross, or that unreleased bug/steel, as a fucking dragon.
In HG and SS is there any story in Kanto? Because I'm almost done in the 8th gym of Johto.

Slightly.
[sp]You follow Suicune around and Eusine is there, also fix the radio tower, battle one last team rocket member, and that's about it[/sp]
Right im going to sit down and play through a game. Black or Soul Silver.

Soul Silver.
Now pick my starter for me, I want the hardest run possible.
Chikorita
Disregard starter. Play with caught Pokemon only.
Totodile
Disregard starter. Play with caught Pokemon only.
Im liking this idea.
Im liking this idea.
