It would be awful for "in-game" play, but it could be a fun option for online/competitive to have around 8.

12 seems way too much 8 in the other hand...

12 for doubles is viable. Just have two teams and combine them.

For all we know, Raikou and Entei are Borophagine dogs, and Suicune is a cheetah. Beasts. Also, if you count lions as cats, you ought to also count foxes, wolves and jackals as dogs. So add Vulpix, Houndour, Riolu and Zorua to that list. And remove Poochyena, hyenas are FAR closer to cats than to dogs; they are as canine as bears are feline.

I was always under the impression that Suicune was a Panther, Entei is a Lion, and Raikou is a Tiger.

You can only classify them as beasts, really.
