there's also literally no grass types
Are you implying that's a problem?
yes because there is literally only oddish, bellsprout, and tangrowth
Tangrowth was gen4 from memory
Also there was hoppip so fuck you, hoppip is awesome.
whatever
purple spaghetti monster
I'm so sick of not having my Power Weight on my Black 2 right now. I forgot to send it over, and now I feel like I can't make anything bulky.
Are you telling me Qwilfish is not the greatest thing to have been created ever?
I know someone that clearly agrees with you

Your HEAD'S a Qwilfish.
why does gold/silver have crappy starting pokemon
there's like no decent water/electric types at the beginning
You can get Mareep in front of Violet City. The Mareep line is pretty good, learning some pretty good Electric types at nice levels.

Outside of the obvious Thunderbolt and Thunder Wave, it doesn't have much going for it in gen 2.
Fire punch... and... uh...

I agree, Mareep is good, but it only shows up in Silver.
Mareep is in both Gold and Silver, but absent in Crystal.
And Qwilfish you said? Inferior ripoff of Pukumon:

Popeye pufferfish >>> Inferior Tentacruel

To be fair, the movepools in gen II were like freaking puddles.
God damn, my Espeon doesn't know a single Psychic move, and won't learn another until level 36 :l
Seriously, Noctowl learns Confusion at level 40ish.
<_<
And that's why you used Abra with elemental punching in GSC.
what's a good moveset for an Arcanine?
Close Combat, Flare Blitz, Extremespeed and something else; Wild Charge or Crunch may work just fine.

its so fluffy im gonna die (pnt showed this to me so credit goes to him for finding it)
So, Dragon Dance Haxorus is overkill for in-game; when you turn the climatic moment into an one-sided sweep, something's not quite right.
what's a good moveset for an Arcanine?
My current one goes:
Extremespeed
Electric Fang
Fire Blast
Crunch

Hah
Fire Blast is awesome, the 85% accuracy is high enough to be considered decent, and the 120 base power makes it usable even in physically centered mons.
Thunder Fang sucks, use Wild charge instead; 90 power is good, while 65 is not.
120 base power makes it usable even in physically centered mons.
Flare Blitz
True; but at the end, it boils down to just sheer power, or avoiding being somewhat walled by physical walls.
For in-game, Flamethrower is also a decent competitor, due to lack of drawbacks and high PP.
If you want to split, play arcanine bulky. But as far as offensive goes, physical is the way to go for him.

King's Rock or whatever the flinch item is plus thunder fang is awesome imo, flinch everytime

If you want flinch cheese just use jirachi or togekiss
