I was overwhelmed by the huge amount of new pokemon and 3d graphics

So I've been playing Soulsilver since I got a new DS for the holidays to replace my broken old one, and I've gotta say, it's weird playing one of these games without a giant strategy guide next to me

I seriously missed half the HM's until I got to a point where I simply needed them to advance, and I keep having to look online for all the other important goodies

Is fun though, like catching the red Gyarados with my last normal pokeball and such.

what's a good moveset for mienshao?
mine right now is:
-Stone Edge
-Fake Out
-Hi Jump Kick
-Aura Sphere

I know I shouldn't have 2 fighting moves in there, but I don't know which one to dump

Aura sphere is not good on him.
U-Turn combos with regenerator, or you can use protect to scout the enemy move etc.

Aura Sphere isn't very good on Mienshao. Use U-turn.

Acrobatics can be good on Mienshao depending on what you plan to use him with.

Am I the only one who thinks the capture rates for legendaries are way too fucking low?

I've spent 4 hours trying to catch Ho-Oh with ultra balls, and he's always down to his last 5% of HP and often paralyzed or frozen, but he just won't fucking give it up

I'm seriously getting pissed here

I just wussed out and used my masterball because Ho-Oh ate up all of my other ones.

I then named it "FAGGOT" and boxed it forever.

I'm trying to save my master ball for Lugia or Kyogre, who would both be level 70 and significantly more of a bitch to get than even this fucker

Plus I need this bastard so I'm not just running two 40-ranges, a 30, a 20 and two HM slaves against the elite four

I had to look that up, I never would've known that I could get Kyogre as well as a starter.

I just got pissed and used my master ball. I didn't really need him though, since I managed to keep all of my pokemon around the same level. (I cheated though, and leveled up one in Pearl to trade over, since my Ariados wasn't cutting it.)

It was terrible in HG/SS. I went through close to 500 various balls to catch Entei and Raikou.

In BW(2), I'm pretty sure they fixed it, because I caught Kyurem in a nest ball.

Kyurem's catch rate has always been 3 as far as I know, you probably just got lucky

One thing though, Black 1 is used and didn't come with a box or instruction manual.

So is there anything that I'm going to be needing in there? I'm only asking because I remember in Prof. Layton there was a puzzle in which you had to decode something in the booklet.
