My precious Empoleon as lead, my favorite starter. It's an armored royal penguin with shield swords for arms, how is that not cool? Also Steel toughens the relatively decent defense.
Gardevoir, because I'm typical. Also defensive variation of Alakazam and pretty.
Braviary as high health and EV-trainable defense go well together. Also flying.
Rapidash for lightning bruising. Also a handy mount.
Gothitelle as Jack-of-all-trades wall. Also gothic christmas tree.
Froslass as interferencing thing. Also gains speed in hail.
