Actually it's more like a fire fox. (haw)
Fenne=Fennec Fox, perhaps. Looks that way.
And really I keep being told foxes lean more to the feline side than the canine side.

i always assumed because of the longer mouth it erred on the side of dogs

Was Gen5 the shortest generation? There were very few spinoff games (maybe 2 if I remember correctly) I thought it was too early for a Gen6 but they sure showed me.
i wish they would just make more like the play style of sapphire/ruby. This and the previous DS versions just feel cheap to me. I feel the 3D takes too much away from what i love about the original games.

Gen 2 lasted less than 3 years internationally (885 days ~> 2,4 years), this one is going to last a bit more than 3 years.

Foxes are canine canids; vulpini instead of canini, but FAR closer to dogs than to cats. Quite cat-like in habits, but they are canids, and closer to dogs (as in domestic wolves) than plenty of basal canids usually called "something dog". And fennec foxes are no exception, they are quite close to the common red fox.
I don't mind the new designs, but the idea to go to the ugly 3d models was a bad one in my opinion.

Come to think of it all the starters look like Gen5 pokes in one way or another. Fire starter with Zora and the Water looks a teeny tiny bit like the Seismistoad line.

just my opinion, but i wish for customization of my pokemon in futrure gens.
when i put sunglasses on my dark Pokemon (improve dark-type moves)

I'm so excited for this! Have been hoping for a full 3D handheld Pokemon for years! Now.. How to survive the next 9 months.
All of my concerns are technical for the most part
-All of the starter names are stupid as hell, I like the starters themselves but man the names are bad
-With 700+ critters, each with their own character models... will there be room for Shiny pokemon? (I wouldn't care due to how stupidly rare they are)
-How long is the game going to be? It's not a disk and it's kind of blowing my mind that they're doing this on a cartridge.
-Is that slowdown or what when the main character (male) is running towards the screen with the tower in the back? Tied with the other worries I have in regards to framerate.

3DS cartridges can store up to 8 gigs so I wouldn't worry

who the hell is going to be the villains?
have we moved on from plasma?
maybe it's a group that focuses on gene splicing pokemon?
then it might make sense if they all have the same type of pokemon
lets say, #64-66 are pokemon that look like two combined along with there evolution
if all the enemy have those, i'd buy that storyline
there goal might be to splice the two legendaries together (again)

I think the X and the Y stands for the axis of the 2D plane, and since everything is in 3D now, they'll release Pokemon Z a bit later. (just like Platinum and Emerald)

With this issue, if they programmed it correctly, shiny Pokemon would take up even less space than the sprite version. They'd just need to change the color values on the regular model.
I still think that X and Y have more to do with axis than with chromosomes of all things. Yeah, I know those exist, I'm 4 months away from a biology degree, but here, the axis option makes far more sense, in my opinion.

Not really an issue, a change of color palette and texture (Like this case) doesn't take much space at all, and 3DS cartridges have tons of space anyway.
