my 3DS arrived this morning [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/XOlPA.jpg[/thumb] just gotta wait till October for new pokemon now
Thanks for reminding me to save up also, What would be a good moveset for a blastoise? currently mine is Blizzard surf skull bash flash cannon
The only way to access event Pokemon is to use an Action Replay for DS or a Gameshark for the GBA games. Although I consider such methods to be "legit," because the Nintendo events to access these Pokemon have long since passed. (Or, in the case of Arceus, never at all.) Nobody would look down on you for using codes.
I obtained my Arceus via a Dream World promotion thing some months ago. About the others, you can also trade them; or use a custom DNS server and download the legal .pkm files from an event database as a last resort measure. As long as they're legal pokemon (You can use Pokecheck for checking that) I don't see the problem, personally.
Thanks for reminding me to save up also, What would be a good moveset for a blastoise? currently mine is Blizzard surf skull bash flash cannon
skull bash is kind of useless, it takes a turn to charge and doesn't really do good damage on blastoise. replace that with something else. also ice beam is generally a better option than blizzard if possible but blizzards fine if you can't do that, and flash cannon also isn't entirely necessary since steel isn't that great an offensive type, you could replace that with something else too. toxic and protect are good options, other possibilities are rest and maybe iron defense. [editline]11th January 2013[/editline] if you're talking about using him in actual battles then there's many possibilities so just google it or something
Flash Cannon can be useful for Ice types, but Scald, Surf or Hydro Pump may hit harder. Still, more accurate than Focus Blast, but that one may work. Not keen on Iron Defense or Toxic AND Protect, that last one is a bit gimmick, use Roar or Dragon Tail to make your opponent waste time and poison/burn his whole team.
i assumed he wasn't talking about battles since he had skull bash which is a learnset move. toxic/protect isn't a good idea in battles i just thought it'd be more useful than skull bash/flash cannon.
is there a better lighting move than discharge or should i stick to using it ?
Thunderbolt is the best, but Discharge is quite neat for the paralysis chance. Thunder is good IF you have access to rain or boosted accuracy (read: use it only with Kyogre or Galvantula). Which Pokemon are you using?

the paralyze chance could be particularly useful on magnezone since hes a slow pokemon, but you could also just use thunder wave, unless you need that move slot for some reason.
current moves are: Magnet rise metal sound discharge flash cannon
Metal Sound sucks, magnet rise is not that good, as Magnezone won't be doing anything to Earthquake users. Try Thunder Wave. Also, if you have some shards, teach it Signal Beam at Driftveil's move tutor (IIRC), Bug attacks give it good coverage. Thunderbolt is better than Discharge if you have Thunder Wave (which is VERY useful for catching Pokemon and crippling strong opponents). And seeing you are already over level 50, you'll be getting Thunderbolt soon enough. Magnezone doesn't have that much of a movepool, so Thunderbolt, Flash Cannon, Thunder Wave and Signal Beam is as good as it gets, from in-game to competitive (well, maybe a hidden power for the latter, but lol HP). Sturdy or Magnet Pull, btw?
magnet pull never really got into competitive play, seems like to much work just to stand up to some people with all the ev's and iv's and stuff like that
Aw shucks, Sturdy is quite better, if only because you'll live through Earthquakes to pull a Thunder Wave; still decent tho.

Skull Bash was a TM in gen I. Not much of a signature if you ask me.
magnet pull never really got into competitive play, seems like to much work just to stand up to some people with all the ev's and iv's and stuff like that
you could just use a simulator or pokesav.
you could just use a simulator or pokesav.
PokeGTS is much better if you want quick comp-ready Pokemon. I use it to make my little cousin Pokemon but I find it funner to raise a Pokemon by hand for myself.
I make eggs in PokeGen with the lowest form of the Pokemon I want to raise, with the proper moves, nature, IVs and ability, then raise it myself.
PokeGTS is much better if you want quick comp-ready Pokemon. I use it to make my little cousin Pokemon but I find it funner to raise a Pokemon by hand for myself.
oh man i had no idea this existed.
PokeGTS is much better if you want quick comp-ready Pokemon. I'm looking at PokeGTS, but I'm stupid and can't figure out what I'm looking at. Can someone explain it to me please?
the pokemon gts DNS is: 204.45.29.54 i get that... and i know i have to change my DSN settings. but those numbers are a block of 3 then a ot then twos right? and the boxes on my DSI ask for 3 numbers to be filled in, i don't get this what am i doing wrong?
Add in "0"s for all the empty spaces.
i've tried this in both comibnations i.e. 204.045. etc and 204.450 etc and neither of these worked...
So with the DNS, do I have to set it as primary or secondary on my 3DS? secondary works, primary won't let me connect.
So I'm currently leveling my Tynamo, am two levels away from evolving it, when I do should I thunderstone it immediately, or wait for a few levels before doing so?
So I'm currently leveling my Tynamo, am two levels away from evolving it, when I do should I thunderstone it immediately, or wait for a few levels before doing so?
Unless you want Acid Spray or it's a Physical one and you need Coil, Just T-stone that thing.
I'd wait till it learned thunderbolt before doing that
