"...serious melee skills."? Shit. There goes my Water/Flying theory for Froakie.
I guessed it was a sloth because of the two big clawed toes and the grass typing. Also, because tree sloths can be covered in moss and look entirely green sometimes. If that article is actually a clue, then we could say that: - Chespin is going to be covered in spikes in its future evolutions. - Fennekin is probably going to end up as Fire/Psychic, like speculated. - Froakie is going to be a physical attacker, and maybe also Water/Fight.
That's just a fan article. I wouldn't trust anything that's not from CoroCoro or 2ch. I'm hoping that we get type exclusives in the starters but thats unlikely since Water has been paired with every type except Fire.

I sorta accidentally koed her Also, why the fuck is everything dodging my raichu's every second focus blast? Cheren's stoutland dodged literally five, leaving me elemental monkeyless. This is seriously giving me problems. I just got my hydreigon finished off by a scolipede while raichu couldn't land a hit.
Focus blast has completely fail accuracy, which is probably why. It's a cool move but it's just too inaccurate to be really good Also, insofar as I've heard if you defeat the E4 all the legendaries you haven't caught respawn. I'm not sure if this repeats ad-infinitum tho Which is why you should save scum like a mofo before them anyway
Water ground is nice till you end up having to beat a grass type [editline]13th January 2013[/editline] Also, this thread is godly slow. And anyone know how to get rid of that ace trainer blocking the way at the black tower challenge?
We need more Water-ground
I think Water-Ground may be the most common dual-typed water pokemon, What we need is a strong Water/Bug. Those two attacks provide some of the best STAB and some of the best defense type (for the OU tier).
i kinda want dragon/rock.
i kinda want dragon/rock.
Depending on ability, That sounds like a solid UU pokemon. Weak to Steel (aka Scissors Bullet Punch), Fight, Ice, Ground though it would have a 4X resist to Fire. They should of made Druggidon a Dragon/Rock due to his scales and rough skin.
i always thought druddigon looked kinda rocky too, in the same way archeops does. i also always thought flygon looked more like a dragon/bug. that'd be kind of interesting too as a special attacker. most of the special dragons tend to be legendary, except like salamence or hydreigon i guess who tend to be mixed. it'd be cool to see one in the lower tiers.
i kinda want dragon/rock.
A gargoyle pokemon similar to Druddigon would fit that typing perfectly. Dragon/Poison would be cool too, there's a lot of venomous varanids they could base its design on, like the Gila Monster or the Komodo Dragon. About its competitiveness, 4x grass resistance seems like its only notable feature, but I look forward for new, cool designs rather than powerful OU-classified pokemon. Other Dragon-type combinations I'd like to see would be Dragon/Bug, Dragon/Fight and Dragon/Grass, and maybe have another Dragon/Water Pokemon. Its BST (485) seems alright enough to guarantee one (Electabuzz had 490 and we have Electrivire with 540)

Its BST (485) seems alright enough to guarantee one (Electabuzz had 490 and we have Electrivire with 540)
I would like to see a Pokemon like Heracross (good BST, no evolutionary relative, ok typing) get an Evolution but have its BST shuffled like what happened to Scyther.
I would like to see a Pokemon like Heracross (good BST, no evolutionary relative, ok typing) get an Evolution but have its BST shuffled like what happened to Scyther.
That'd be something cool, and would also give the option of using eviolite to that Pokemon. But there're examples of base stat reshuffling even when the BST of both are not the same: Look at Porygon2 and Porygon-Z, the former is much bulkier and slower than the latter, even if their BSTs are only a bit different (515 and 535 respectively).
I hate stuff like Deino or Larvesta. High attack, but their evolutions are special attack monsters, so it's nearly impossible to train them unless you want minimum special attack later on.
i kinda want dragon/rock.
Fire/Ice would be cool Something like Jakiro from Dota 2 maybe?
Am i the only one that thinks Froakie looks like Benjamin Franklin?
Am i the only one that thinks Froakie looks like Benjamin Franklin?
No.
Am i the only one that thinks Froakie looks like Benjamin Franklin?
did you read the comic posted 9 pages ago and then completely forget about it
I hope the starters don't get the usual Overgrow, Blaze, Torrent abilities but it's almost a guarantee.
If they have cool hidden abilities I really hope they're not japan/event-exclusive.
If they have cool hidden abilities I really hope they're not japan/event-exclusive.
The thing I'm most excited about in this generation is the new abilities and possible unique type combinations we will see. There are so many possibilities they can do with the Fire and Grass starter in terms of uniqueness.
And anyone know how to get rid of that ace trainer blocking the way at the black tower challenge?
fight Alder in floccessy town after the E4, IIRC. his grandson Benga will show up after and talk to Alder, etc etc then one of them tells you to go challenge the tower and fight Benga at the top
did you read the comic posted 9 pages ago and then completely forget about it
I've not seen any comic, nine pages back or sooner.
I hope I get my Ghost/Steel and Ghost/Bug
i kinda want dragon/rock.
New fossil pokemon T-Rex make it happen.
I remember seeing a magazine with Gen 5 Pokemon, and amongst them this Skull-Ghost thing that wasn't duskull. Was it a fake or did they cut some pokemon like they did that one time
I remember seeing a magazine with Gen 5 Pokemon, and amongst them this Skull-Ghost thing that wasn't duskull.
It wasn't this thing by any chance?
It looked like a small dark spirit with your image's shoulder-skulls flipped upside-down and used as a mask. Except the teeth were a part of the skull instead of connected. Also, If the male trainer of X and Y can't wear a beanie I think I might kill someone
I know it hasn't even been a week but damn it I want more Pokémon to be revealed right now.
It wasn't this thing by any chance?
Why pretty much all CAP pokemon designs must be so atrocious? Specially the Digimon-ass abomination that is Arghonaut. I think these are the only good CAP design, mostly because they actually look like real Pokemon designs: [t]http://cap.smogon.com/web/art/gallery/past/cap06/3-cartoons-squiddy.jpg[/t][t]http://cap.smogon.com/web/art/gallery/past/cap10/01-aragornbird-shrimp.jpg[/t][t]http://cap.smogon.com/web/art/gallery/past/cap10/03-cartoons-cap10.jpg[/t][t]http://cap.smogon.com/web/art/dex/mollux_dex.jpg[/t]
^first one looks really fake but i want that shrimp/lava lamp though
My theory is that Chespin is based on the evolution of dinosaurs towards mammals. From what I've seen, Grass = Evolution Fire = Chinese Zodiac Water = Marine animals
Dinosaurs didn't evolve into mammals.
