So, I'm playing through Emerald right now, but I'm still trying to form my final team. What pokemon should I go for? I currently have an aron, combusken, (going to catch a) trapinch, taillow, lombre, and poochyena. Anything I should think about switching out/changing?
I should clarify, I've only just beaten Wattson's gym.
IMO poochyena is a huge waste of time

because you know they're already in the making if not already made for small children

If they ever retype for Gen6, I think Noctowl should be retyped to Psychic/Flying from Normal/Flying.
A huge majority of its learnable moves are psychic moves after all.
I'm gonna go with Chespin, I don't know why the majority seems to dislike that starter.
I like it the most really. The fire one seems really generic-looking to me. Water starter is a possibility for me.
How could you dislike Bianca as a pokemon?
the water one looks ugly, but it probably has the best evolution
i will make my starter decision based on the final evolution on how cool they look in tandem with their stats and movepools
As i have with the past 3 generations

Thats usually what I do but I also take into account the new Pokemon of those types and decide which one I want on my team and disqualify the starter that shares the same type. The reason I picked Snivy over Tepig was because of how badly I wanted a Chandelure on my team.
I am so excited for the new pokedex to come out so i can start building a new team
Black Tower is so tedious, ugh.
On Floor 6/7.
Serebii updated their pictures of X and Y.
Also starters are confirmed to be pure grass/fire/water. But i think the evolutions won't be.
Serebii: "Nintendo has sent out some new details regarding Pokémon X & Y. Specifically, it has confirmed that the types of Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie will be pure Grass, Fire and Water respectively. In addition to that, they have released six direct feed screenshots of the Pokémon in battle, which have been added to our screenshot page. Click the image to go to our page."

Best thing.
So far in White 2, I've caught Cobalion, Virizion, and Reshiram in Poke Balls (the latter on the very first ball I threw on my very first try), Terrakion in a Luxury Ball, and Kyurem in a Premier Ball.
I like my luck so far.

Ever since Emerald I have vowed to catch with only Poke Balls and Legendaries with Premier (successfully). I think I have said this before?
When I see a Legendary that I really really want to ev train, I just use the Masterball and soft reset till I get the nature I want. Otherwise I just use my Breloom w/ Spore + False Swipe and spam Dusk Balls.
I always had a thing where I'd catch the main legendary in the Masterball and all the others in Ultra Balls.
Even in situations where the Masterball would be best saved for something like a roaming Pokemon. It would just irk me if say, Azelf and Uxie were caught in Ultra Balls and Mespirit wasn't. I like consistency.
Also guys I have to ask again if anybody has a well bred Scraggy/Sigilyph lying around.

More or less my plan. Version legendaries master balls, otherwise ultra balls/dusk balls if they're in a cave

I have a pile of Sigilyph that I haven't gotten around to deleting, what nature(s) are you looking for? (They all have pretty great IVs)
I always keep the masterball for just in case I encounter some shiny pokemon I might not otherwise have a ball left over for. When there's roaming pokemon I still haven't caught, I keep a Gengar with mean look at the front of my party. Roaming pokemon are best left to fast balls.
Other than that, in the newer games I usually stick with the dusk balls (almost twice as good as an ultra ball, and almost always works as I usually only play at night).
While I'm here lurking, I have a question: does anyone have a well trained fire type pokemon they don't use? Any fire type will do.

Either Modest or whatever the + Speed - Attack one is. (Timid?)
I'm going to use him as a Life Orb + 4 attacks 'Mon. Because of that, Magic Guard is a must, unfortunately.
If he has Stored Power though, it would fancy me to have Bold even.
I have one modest, and it's IVs could be anything, except for it's speed which is definitely 31.
And... It has magic guard!

OH BOY. Add me on Steam yo, we can continue our convo there.
I don't have a steam, sadly.
Even if I did though, I don't think my computer supports it.
I'm planning to restart Platinum after I finish White 2. I'm planning on getting Torterra, Vaporeon, Drifblim, and Weavile. As for my other two team members, I need suggestions. I would like a fire type for one of the slots, but I'm not sure which one.
if im trying to get a shiny pokemon through the masuda method, is it fine to turn off the system and to save
