Well you could always start the challenge after you get pokeballs. You have to go back to your hometown before that anyway, so once you've visited Mr. Pokemon and stuff you can start the challenge.

It's not like there are only two rules and "EVERYTHING ELSE IS WRONG".
that's not the way I played when I did it though. amazingly I made it all the way to Mr. Pokemon and back without seeing a single wild. it was incredible.
I thought about that too.
I've been playing SoulSilver with additional rules Katska described.
Right now I own Totodile, Hoothoot, Rattata, Gastly, Bellsprout, Geodude and "Egg". I haven't lost any pokemon yet.
There have been some close situations, where my pokemon had only 1-3 HP left because of a critical hit.
I had a little problem with Falkner (Flying type gym leader) too, because he managed to use Sand Attack and I had to try attacking at least ten times with Geodude's Rock Throw before one hit managed to land.

All that is just optional (except first capture in each area). They're only made because some people want more challenge than the basic Nuzlocke challenge offers.
Yeah i mean as long as i followed the KO=death rule to the end i think i can say i did it. Maybe i'll include the first capture per area, not entirely sure...

and then at the end when i beat the game i can yay i beat the game, everyone is alive magically again!
otherwise if that cliche happy ending didn't happen, i'd cry, lots

It'd be a real kick in the balls if you lost.
If your playing a nuzlocke and not prepared for a kick to the balls
then you're doing something wrong
Which game should I nuzlocke? I have every gba game, pearl, and white 1 to work with.
God this Terrakion is such a fucking whore it keeps on wasting all my balls.
AND GUESS WHAT
[sp]1 HP PARALYZED[/sp]

same thing happened to me exsept mine was both frozen an sleep
maybe i should have tried to get him the whole way
1 hp sleep, paralyzed and frozen

that wouldn't work. at all. you can only have one status on any pokemon at a time, (status meaning Burn Sleep Freeze and Paralysis) while you can have multiple minor effects on (Such as curse, confusion, love, etc.)

Dude, what the fuck are you talking about?
Nevermind, Zero_X54321 beat me to it. Sorry, but you're best bet is probably Sleep. Freeze is far too difficult to induce to really be practical in these situations.

ok sorry, i've given you all the wrong idea, i worded it badly
i didn't mean all at the same time what happened was i was using the (snowflake pkm), it got frozen, when it thawed i switched to minccino and used sing.
then i mean't i should have switched over to an electric pkm and zapped it when it woke
sorry i confused you all
i'll just sit over here and be quiet now...
What's a decent water type to work for? I was thinking Azumarill as a physical attacker, but I'm not entirely sure.
Cloyster destroyed my hopes and dreams

Kingdra, Lanturn, Swampert, Slowking and Empoleon are all awesome, to name a few
What's a decent water type to work for? I was thinking Azumarill as a physical attacker, but I'm not entirely sure.

Sharpedo
Pretty much this.
Swampert is excellent as well, Golduck isn't horrible if you're going for physical, neither is Crawdaunt/Kingler. Quagsire is good because you have the Ground resistance to Electric. Ludicolo is good and so is Whishcash for the same reason as Quagsire and both of them have decent HP/defence. Walrein is good because it's got fuckhigh health (same with Wailord but Wailord is kinda meh)
Starmie is an awesome special attacker with insane speed, it's defense is horrid though
Starmie is an awesome special attacker with insane speed, it's defense is horrid though
I dislike it's low HP more than it's mediocre defense.
Aw, never mind.
But hey, if you didn't know Pokémon ever died, then now you know.
One of the groups I hang out with at lunch, basically my Pokémon friends, merged with the group that contains the girl I've been crushing over for a long time now. Being the creepy motherfucker I am, I use this as an opportunity to insert myself into said group. The operation was a success, and I'm going to Disneyland with them next weekend.
"Why the fuck are you posting this in the Pocket Monsters thread, Katska?" is what you may or may not be asking your monitor right now for some reason. Well, kiddo, I'll tell you.
One day, I'm talking to my fellow man children about instances in the series where Pokémon have actually died, such as that infamous Marowak. I guess that girl is listening to us, because she speaks up and says, "Nuzlocke?" This came completely out of left field. I had always assumed she didn't play Pokémon, and I'm still not even sure that she does. The possibility that she does definitely excites me, however.
This is probably the most boring story, and I'm sorry if you feel that I now owe you a minute of your life back. Check in with the help desk, and perhaps we can assist you.
wooow man i luv wat u did wif ur blog
I thought it was a sweet story
Okay, I'm gonna re-assemble my dream team.
Not really sure what I want on it though...
I know for sure I'm using Volcarona, Scrafty, and Slowbro (they've all served me well).
Now I'm trying to cover as many types as possible... maybe a Snorlax? He IS my favorite after all, and he can support a wide range of attacks...
So Snorlax is most likely going to be in there too.
I may toss in my old Crobat, he's a AAA annoyer (evasion, poison, flinching, etc.)
I also want an Electric type in there... I'm considering Raichu, I've never gone wrong with good ol' Raichu...
I dunno, mostly looking for some opinions (consider Volcarona, Scrafty, and Slowbro totally getting in, Snorlax is most likely, Crobat and Raichu are subject to change).

Magnezone is a really great electric type with stellar defense and special attack, along with a good movepool.
I suggest you consider putting one on your team.
Damnit
Thanks to the fact that there are no non-login-based wifi's at uni, I can't get a Sharpedo with Speed Boost
That's lame
How exactly do I get into the dream world? The website is confusing me a bit here.

You go to global exchange
Make an account
Link your game
Login to that
Go to dream thing ingame
Tuck in pokemon
???
That's the point where I couldn't continue because of aforementioned lack of open wifi

does your campus have those residence village things for upperclassmen? they have wifi you can sign in to, at my previous campus at least

My wifi requires a downloaded authentication package to work, which I can't get even if I can enter my login info
I suppose worst case scenario I can attempt to jack some wifi at the cafe down the road, but it's just so much trouble...
Pokemon X/Y will be my first game I will be able to connect online, because Nintendo decided with the DS that it won't support other than WEP for wireless.
