Oh but that's only in Gen V. I'm playing HeartGold.
Then I hope you like having a paperweight on your team, at least it can be your Strength Poké.

WHY CAN'T I HOLD ALL OF THESE JOLTIKS!?
Fuck Joltick, I'm still pissed off about Chargestone cave.
Anyway I'm leveling up my pokemen to around level 50ish before I take on the Elite 4. I'm using Porygon, Lilligant, Swanna, Gigalith, Musharna and Darmanitan. What do yall think about my team?
So... I just started playing pokemon mystery dungeon: explorers of darkness, my character is a pikachu and my companion is chikorita
Man, I've lost 3 times already, this game's hard when you're starting out, I.e I forgot you can't steal from kecleons in dungeons unless you have a escape orb
Anyways, does anyone have any tips on how to get good stuff/lots of money? those freaking shops try to rip me off so hard, I'd rather stick to exploring Mt. Bristle/waterfal cave over and over
Fuck, Geodude is now one of my favourite Pokemon.
I just beat the second gym using nothing but a level 20 Quilava and a level 14 Geodude, and I barely ever used the Quilava.
Geodude is fucking badass.

So should I add the Togepi that came from the egg into my team? Y/N
I hope the inevitable gen iv themed 3ds's aren't really fucking bad looking.

If it's a Hustle Togepi then it might be better for it to stay boxed up.
Oh, and keep Geodude for the third Gym battle at least, you'll need it.
Okay, so I've been thinking about my Jolteon's moves and I was wondering if I should change some of them, but I don't know what I should change them to. If anyone has any suggestions, that would be good.
Its move are Discharge, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch, and Thunder Wave.
Three electric type moves?
why?
i come to this thread and it makes me want to go play pokemon, but then i realize i really don't feel like it, feels like too much of a chore, pretty much the same thing...it worries me that XY will give me a similar feeling...
Thunder Bolt, Shadow Ball, Volt Switch and Return/Signal Beam.
(note that it's probably not the best moveset but I guarantee it's better than your current all-Electric moveset).
But hopefully the story will be interesting enough to latch on to
Three electric type moves?

I don't know, to be honest. It started as one electric-type move because it needed one after evolving, next thing I knew, all of it's move were electric-type

Okay then. I'll try that out.

You know what, while I'm here, lets see about the rest of my team.
Samurott:
Razor Shell, Aqua Jet, Scald, Ice Beam
Liepard:
Taunt, Fake Out, Dark Pulse, Nasty Plot
Zangoose:
Crush Claw, X-Scissor, Detect, Close Combat
Seviper:
Toxic, Giga Drain, Flamethrower, Sludge Bomb
Ninetails:
Will-O-Wisp, Energy Ball, Safeguard, Flamethrower
Replace one of samurotts with mega horn
Replace one of samurotts with mega horn
Yeah, I was going to do that, but I don't know which one.
Yeah, I was going to do that, but I don't know which one.
Either razor shell or scald.
If yours has a higher sp.attack then stick with scald,
or if higher attack, stick with razor shell
Disregard that,
gastric's a better pokemon trainer than me
My suggestions.
Is there an altenative to Night Slash for Zangoose? I really don't want to start breeding pokemon just so they could have the right move.

Isn't that kind of cheating?
How do you get Samurott to learn Megahorn?
I can't find the TM anywhere.
Isn't that kind of cheating?
What do you mean "kind of", it's pretty clearly cheating.
Just think of it as saving time.

You need to use a heart scale.

Still I'm rather not use it.
Listened to Kanto Reorchestrated, I wonder what the games would be like if they used that sort of music instead.
If Night Slash is troublesome, Shadow Claw is almost the same move, and actually has slighty better coverage if combined with a fighting move (Dark+Fight is resisted just by Heracross, Ghost+Fight is unresisted).
Isn't that kind of cheating?
No one really cares - everyone uses it. Better than hatching 100s of eggs for a pokerman with good evs and the right moves.

Toxicroak and Croagunk resist both too.
And yeah, Ghost/Fight is pretty much the best combination for neutral type coverage on everything, the only typing that would be resistant to both would be Normal/Ghost, which doesn't exist at this moment.

But wouldn't the game know that the pokemon was not caught and trained in the game and, therefore, not allow it online?

By that logic traded/outsider pokemon would be deemed illegal, which is silly :v:
That thing only happens if the pokemon carries "illegal" movesets/abilities (A Sableye with Wonder Guard and V-Create would be an example) or if any of its internal values like PID or EV values are invalid or hacked; then that's cheating and I agree that people which carry those pokemons should be banned.

Well, I don't know. As someone who has played Pokemon since the very beginning and has trained every pokemon I have, it still feel kind of wrong to me.
I don't think I'll end up using it for Zangoose, but I have been thinking about making a Fire-type only team. I might use it then.
it isn't wrong it's smart
