Doin' pretty good on both HG and Platinum. At the elite four on both, with Feraligatr, Ho-oh, Gyarados, Quilava, Bayleef and Sudowoodo for HG and Torterra, Empoleon, Infernape, Giratina, Pelipper and Tentacruel. On Karen in HG but i feel like the Sinnoh EF are going to kick my ass.

Spoiler alert. [sp]The last wailord uses heal beam on the other.[/sp]
Going for shiny Rayquaza, wish me luck :v
Whenever a new Generation is on the horizon, I sometimes worry that GameFreak might redo how stats are determined and all that jazz like with Ruby and Sapphire, and we don't get backwards compatible games.
They wouldn't do that again, right?

What do you mean backwards compatible? AFAIK only Gen 2 to Gen 1 allowed backwards pokemon transfer?

Other way around. Sending 'mons forward, not back. You could from Gen I to II, but Gen III overhauled the background systems, and you can't transfer from Gen II to III. Anything Gen III-V can transfer up, one generation at a time (III to IV, IV to V).

Ohhh, gen 2 to 3 couldn't trade is what he is talking about? I get it now.
Bit of a silly question, but can Pokemon from Black/white be transferred to HeartGold/SoulSilver?
I'm Still playing catchup and trying to build up my DS/3DS collection, and if I can transfer Billy the Porygon across then that will be a nice bit of fun.

That's exactly what he said.

no, you can't trade backwards from five to four. you can only trade up.

See you in a week
I'm sure if they change stats or something drastic, they'd come up with some way to convert old pokemon into new ones. I'm pretty sure the lack of transferability was more thanks to system limitations than anything else.
Anyways, hi general, I know I'm way late to this party but I just got Black 2 a week ago and holy shit this end game is hard. Did the PWT require any of you to do something drastic like get into EV training? The Unova cup led me into a false sense of security and taking on Kanto, Misty is 10 times the water trainer Marlon is and Giovanni now haunts my nightmares.

Yes, EV training helps you defeat the PWT. Also, have a diverse team with diverse moves.

Ninfeon, the Flying Eeveelution.
To be perfectly honest, it looks kinda shitty.
Like if an Eevee dressed up as Skyla, not like the amazing Eevee/cloud or Eevee/eagle Fakemon that people have been making since the dawn of time.

Huh
UPDATE: It's fake, nevermind.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't want more than just a single Eeveelution revealed today...
Mewtwo's apparently confirmed for the Genesect movie.
So we'll be seeing Team Rocket's creation VS Team Plasma's creation.
team rocket didn't make mewtwo
[editline]11th February 2013[/editline]
in the games at least so whatever
I actually kinda like the new Eeveelution

Holy shit, why haven't they made the Pokemon equivalent of Godzilla movies yet?
Ash and Co. provide the human angle, then just have a legendary like Mewtwo show up each time and duke it out with some other legendary.
Instead of the usual, "NOW, USE THIS ATTACK!", we'd get some badass city-leveling destruction befitting a feature-length film.
EDIT: Upon reading this again, I realised that this is basically every Pokemon movie.
To clarify what I'm talking about, I mean a series of movies in which a legendary (like Mewtwo) is pitted against someone else.
For example, "OH FUCK, TEAM DICKFART HAS RESURRECTED GROUDON AND KYOGRE, BETTER CALL MEWTWO IN FROM CLONEVILLE TO SORT THIS SHIT OUT", or "YOU MAY HAVE DEFEATED US LAST TIME, BUT LET'S SEE HOW MEWTWO FARES AGAINST TEAM PLASMA'S NEWEST WEAPON... REBUILT WITH STATE-OF-THE-ART TECHNOLOGY, THE MOST POWERFUL BEING ON THE PLANET... GENESECT!", just like how the Godzilla movies are all about some assholes summoning/building some giant asshole to destroy everything, only for the protagonist to show up and stop them while destroying a comical amount of public property.
what a cute pooty eevee c:

Well, the movies are the Anime-verse, so.. yeah.
It was been released that male versions of the new eevelotion will have a NORMAL/FAGGOT typing.
I like it.
I'll be a little disappointed if this is the only new Pokémon we get this month, though.
