Most Pokémon cartridges any more are technically very dark red. :eng101:
Hold them up a light. It'll shine through and you'll see that the plastic is dark red. It's that way for the infrared communications between cartridges.

What's so bad about that? You have only one weakness, reducing the amount of nasty surprises, and you pay the price of not having any resistances. It's very reliable.
It's like the opposite philosophy to Steel, which has a load of resistances but has an Achilles heel in fire/ground/fighting weaknesses.
