Skill Link, but only if you teach it Icicle Spear. Otherwise, go with Shell Armor. Skill Link allows multiple-hitting moves like Icicle Spear and Bullet Seed to always hit the maximum possible number of times. Shell Armor simply prevents enemies from scoring critical hits on you.

I have quite a few shiny Pokémon that are legit. The ones I've caught myself are an Illumise (my first shiny bar Red Gyarados in GSC), two shiny Gravalers (traded one for a shiny Gallade though), a shiny Golbat which is now a Crobat, and a shiny Chikorita I obtained via the Matsuda Egg method/foreign parent method.
I have a whole other bunch of shinies like Gastly and Rayquaza, but I'm pretty sure they're hacked. ]:
I've only ever gotten one shiny myself, an Elekid, through the Matsuda method. Of course it was when I was breeding for stats and such, though, taking a break from breeding specifically for shinies.

There is no reason to NOT teach it Icicle Spear tho. Slighty stronger than Blizzard if all hits connect (and they will).

I've been contemplating replaying the TCG recently. I started replaying Blue, and it made me think of all the older games, and then I remembered how awesome and addictive the TCG game was. And it had Imakuni? in it, who is... amazing.

Route 9 is perfect for EV breeding Attack and Speed (And Special Attack if you have Pokemon White, Special Defense otherwise)
Just something I don't quite understand yet (I'm willing to try and EV train a pokemon), don't you get EV's from beating pokémon? Then how can you level it up without training solely on the same (low-leveled, wild) pokemon? Do you only get the EV's when you level?

They're recalculated after each battle, and you get them by just defeating a pokemon. In the RSE era EVs were only applied after you leveled up
